Yes, Sam is the perfect image of loyalty. It seems that at a very young age Sam was taught to be loyal and honest to those around him. He never gave anyone a reason to not like him. Even though Sam and Frodo's relationship was one of master/servant it didn't seem that way. The way Frodo trusted Sam and the way Sam was loyal to Frodo made them seem more as brothers.

Yes^^ that's why I was shocked that in the movie Frodo wanted to send Sam back.. I thought it didn't really fit in the relationship Sam and Frodo had.

I guess that PJ just wanted to show how much influence the ring has over Frodo. I don't like this scene, either, every time I see the movie and it comes to that scene, I walk out of the room for about 5 minutes!

Everytime when I see this scene I've to cry without stopping. I don't like this scene either, it's so sad. *cries by only thinking about the scene*

You should see my mom, she cries throughout RotK. I cry through the last third and at that particular scene...but mostly at that scene...when I saw it for the first time I was so furious with Frodo and even angrier at Gollum. I never really liked Gollum.

sam is the most dependant and loyal friend you can ever have because even when Frodo sent him away, he still came back to save him.

I´m also a great fan of Sam and think that he´s kind of the hidden hero in LotR. If not because of him the whole quest would have failed. In Elrond´s council Elrond first refused to let the hobbits go because he wanted to sent one of the Elves when Gandalf said that there´s that little hope and great perils in mordor that not even powerful elves can do much more against it than hobbits. Sam´s friendship proved indeed to be more powerful in the end.
Wow.. have written way too much.

As am i. I love Samwise. If it wasn't for him, Frodo would have failed long ago. He is the rock and the cement that holds the bond between courage and love together as well as determination. He speaks such wise words 'That there's some good in this world Mister Frodo...and It's worth fighting for' That's such an amazing line. Frodo did state himself that he is the chief character...he's 'Samwise the Brave'

Sam is sich a brilliant character. I believe that he represents the good in us all.
I think he brings about a certain feel to the movie, one whoch is hard to describe but his love, devotion and loyalty are certainley three traits which specify him as such a loveable and remarkable charcter.
In TTT Frodo summed it up in one phrase
'You're missing out the chief character...Samwise the Brave...Frodo couldn't have gotten Far without Sam'
