Oh, the book is definetlu worth reading. It's so good. Maybe a part or two could get boring, but it really is good.

most definitely read the book. i lurve it. i read it over and over. and every time i still kind of wait and wonder if Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy are going to get together at the end. the BBC version is definitely worth seeing as well if you haven't already. it's much more detailed and true to the book than the 2005 version. although, if you do want to watch the BBC version, get ready to sit down for awhile because it's about 5 hours long!
i wonder...... has anyone seen the old version. the original one? with Laurence Olivier as Mr. Darcy? I haven't, but I wondered if it was worth seeing. so has anyone seen it?
Sorry about the poss not related to P&P. I promise it won't happen again!

Now that's more like it! posts!
I personally enjoy the BBC version (it's five hours) more. Except the ending of the Keira Knightley version. That was beautiful. It was........ just perfect.
The books really good as well. YTou should all read it if you haven't already!

Can I join?
I'm a huge fan of the BBC version, I love Colin Firth so much...I felt that the one with Keira moved at a really impossibly fast pace, and they cut out some of my favorite parts. I also really don't think she was a very good Elizabeth, that was never how I pictured her. The ending, however, was quite good.
I've read the book, but it was a while ago, so I should read it again.
And one question....does anyone else ever grin like an idiot right at the end of the BBC version, right as Mr. Darcy FINALLY smiles? I love that bit!

Oh my gosh Meldawen! I know exactly what you mean! I always smile at the end when Mr. Darcy smiles. It's so cute! And it's just like........ finally! We've been waiting for it all movie long!
I also agree with what you said about the knew one going along at a ridculously fast pace. All these important parts one after the other with little to no explaining in between. If I hadn't read the book and seen the BBC version I think I would have been confused.
Th'wayla, I don't know about the book being bettre than the movies. I think it really depends on if your a book person or a movie person. They're both wonderful for me.

I own it (well, my mom owns it - she's a fan) and I would not compare it and the books, they're very different.
And I mean, Mr. Wickham looked like Orlando Bloom. And you saw him, what, once? You didn't have time to like him or dislike him or anything! And then when they're all upset about how Lydia ran off, you have no emotional feelings for Wickham at all so you end up going "Er....so what?"
But anyway. I also really like it when Lizzie and Mr. Darcy finally kiss.
