True Meldawen. I didn't feel like they made us hate Wickham enough at all in the new version. I own the BBC version too, and that Wickham is really hateable. Also, I didn't think the new Mr. Collins was creepy enough. The old one makes me cringe. And he makes my flesh crawl, he's so revolting. In the new one it's just kind of like, "Oh. Here'sa really ugly man who wants to marry Elizabeth. She'll most likely refuse him." I do absolutely love the scene where Elizabeth and Darcy first kiss in that field with the sun rising just behind them....... it was beautiful. And the scene after that where they're outside of Pemberley and he's just sort of kissing her really tenderly....... it was just perfect. Those parts almost made up for everything they left out. Almost.
By the way Meldawen, since I will be gone on the actual day, a very Happy Birthday to you!

I know! He's so creepy and greasy and...ewww! And he's extremely smarmy. The first time I saw P&P I was so horrified that Charlotte was going to marry him, because I really liked her.
That was the best scene of the entire movie, in my opinion. I like kissing scenes
Thank you!

Was all that on the BBC one? I haven't seen that one but on the new one they don't actually kiss at all do they? I mean Lizzie kisses his hand but they never actually kiss because, at the time, it wasn't the done thing.
Just to let you know I've changed by name from Elenwë Undómë to Estë Undómë.

Well, on the DVD there is an alternate ending, where they do kiss, but I think it's ridiculously done. Sorry, but that's my opinion. But the BBC version ends better anyway with the double wedding!
The weirdest thing I think there is about Mr Collins was seeing him in PotC. It just looked all wrong!!

Yes! Exactly! Everytime I saw him in POTC, I kept thinking, "Eew! That's Mr. Collins!" Yeah. And sorry about the incorrect thing I said before about them kissing in the field. I've only seen the 2005 version once. Buy I'd consider the kiss of the hand a kiss anyway. So I kind of knew what I was saying.

Oh yea, there is in the alternate ending which I also agree is poor, but in the actual film there is no kissing is there?

I loved the ending! Assuming it's the one where they're sitting outside by a fountainy thing? I though it was so sweet!

*Claps* Great job!
Oh, and I just thought I'd say, on IMDB there's a poll for Best Leading Man in a Jane Austen adaptation! You have to be quick to vote in it, because it'll only be up for a few more hours.

Medalwen, I totally agree with you about Wickam. In the book you like him, then you hate him. Yet in the movie you see him in town and after they get married. He's just there. Maybe he's really credited as "Man One".

Lol! Man one! that's funny. He looks like Orli, for goodness' sake! I can't dislike anyone who looks so much like Orli!

Is the alternate ending on the '05 version?
I'm excited, the library got the BBC version in, and they're holding it for me! I'm going to go in and get it tomorrow!

Oooh, great Elenya! I want to see the BBC one so much, but I can't get it!
The alternate ending is on the 05 version. I don't like the way Mr Darcy keeps, well, murmuring "Mrs Darcy" there. It's just rubbish!
