Well...i just learned recently that the Veggietales movie by Big Idea, entitled The Lord of the Beans, has become official and it will be released in October. You can see the trailer and other info here: http://www.bigidea.com/videos/veggietal ... od_med.htm
I used to be a pretty big fan of veggitales, and I am now a huge lotr fan, so it will be intersting to see the 2 mix. I think a lotr story will be pretty funny as a veggitale spin-off, and I think it's great that they chose to parodize lotr rather than something else. It just goes to show how popular and influential tolkien's story is in todays pop-culture (not to mention in the Christian polulation, which may have actually had more to do with it)
Anyways, we'll see come October. I know I'll probably be buying it, if not for its quality, than for the fact that I "must own" everything lotr!
So...what does everyone else think?

Haha. I watched the trailer yesterday. hehe, and army of Sporks. That rocks. My only complaint is Junior as Frodo, or whatever the character's name is in this. That veggie's voice really starts to grate on my nerves... hopefully he won't sing at all.

I don't know if making the movie was such a good idea - I mean, extending the legend of LotR is great, but mixing it with something else and making light of it - it doesn't seem to be very appropriate for such an outstanding trilogy. I don't know. I haven't seen the trailer yet, so I shouldn't be making any judgements yet.

This would be one major comedy for me. I would probably start laughing in the beginning and never stop. I mean, that trailer can make me cry from laughter! Imagine the movie.

I liked The Lord of the Beans, but it did get annoying in places. Still, it was pretty funny. I did laugh a lot....especially with the 'very efficient language." That was really funny.

my opinion on Lord of the Beans? *gags* I don't like how they made LotR into VeggieTales! And how they could make a PG-13 movie a little kids movie - just doesn't make sense. It is cute, though, but they didn't have to do it. While they're at it, they should do StarWars or Pirates of the Caribbean.
