Post subject: Healed (Eowyn and Faramir poem) (G) Posted: November 21st, 2006, 6:45 pm |

I am healed, healed
from all wounds. The pain has
passed, is out of my
bones. Here I sit, in this
house, so lonely..cold,
no one to comfort me.
Not Until I saw him
on the wall, did my hope falter
back to me. A lordly man he
seemed, but what am I?
A woman in his dreams?
I longed to be with him,
to speak, laugh,
and be comforted at last.
Ah! at last, I have found what
I have been looking for all
this time without knowing it;
a comforter, a healer, a man
of power to be ...Mine.

I like the sentiment portrayed in the poem, the thought that Eowyn could find a way to see beyond her own bleak situation. Although it took her a while to warm to Faramir in the story, there is room to fill in some of her thoughts while she was in the Houses of Healing. This is a good look at that.
Thank you for sharing this...

Very pretty poem! I honestly didn't think there was enough F/E moments in the movie - sure the extended edition was good, but I mean in the reg. movie it was like, two seconds at the coronation.

I really liked how she made a negative situation positive!
