Smaug - if a hobbit can winkle his way around a dragon, then there might be hope for the rest of us...
Samwise Gamgee (as Mayor of the Shire), or Peregrin Took (as Thain of the Shire)?

Sam as the mayor. I think he'd make a brilliant mayor. He's kind, benevolent, extremely loyal and caring. I love Pippin, but Sam makes a much better leader. Pippin just wants to have fun.
Aragorn: clean and kingly and rugged and rangery?

Rugged and Rangery, definetly!
Where would you rather be:
Rivendell or Lothlorien?

Gandalf the White.
Would you rather be an Istar or just any normal Maia? Considering that the Istari were really just Maiar chosen to subvert Sauron's hold in Middle-earth.

Why Istar then... I like how their different powers supplement each other (my nature would actually be more of a maia I believe... but nahh...).
Fall off a cliff or fall off a warg?

Uh... Fall off a cliff, that seems more safe to me!
Would you rather meet an ent or Tom Bombadil?

Tom Bombadil - as much as the wisdom of the Ents would be interesting to learn, there's only one Tom Bombadil. Of course, trying to get him to speak plainly might be enough to try anyone's patience...
The chariots of the Wainriders, or the Mûmakil of the Haradim?

The Mumakil. They are just amazing.
Would you rather have a balrog or Shelob as a tamed pet?

A Balrog. Spiders scare me.
Yrch or Orc (which name do you like better)?

Well, Yrch is the Elvish form, and I like Elivish, but I'm not entirely certain how you would pronounce that. Every time I see that word, I think this crazy....... pterodactyl noise or something in my head. So I think I prefer Orc, simply because I know how to pronounce it.
Aragorn or Faramir? (just which one you like better in general)

^That's an absolutely cruel comparison, and impossible to make.... I like them both for what they are and each represent. But I can't help thinking the movie now, and I'm a great fan of Viggo Mortensen... so I'm inclined to say Aragorn... however, if we're talking books... well, Faramir is definately very very very close to steal that position from Aragorn. I like Faramir's character a lot in the books...
Leave for The Undying Lands or stay in Middle-earth?
(considering you are your human self)
(Nurrantiel, great Christmas banner you got there, lol!)

^ Sorry Ea. I was trying to come up with a really hard one and apparently I succeeded. I could never choose either. Well.... maybe I love Aragorn just a little more....
As for your question, I would stay in Middle-earth. I have nod desire for immortality or not to die. If the person I loved sailed to the Undying Lands though, than of course I would follow them.
*scrolls up to see Nurrantiel's Christmas banner* I agree, it's very cute/funny.
