I've seen commercials for it, and I really want to see it! Is it true to the story, for the most part?

Yes! Very true to the story! Sense no one really knows how the wise men's journey led them to Jesus, and when it did, they kinda made that one up, but it is a very good, logical explanation, and they are the comic relief! :P Also, the only thing I could see that they missed, was that when the angel came and told the shepards about Jesus, there wasn't a heavenly host... I was a bit dissapointed in that... but otherwise it is VERY true to the story.

I am very curious about this movie, because I never really felt comfortable going to watch the Passion (as of now, I have yet to see it) because it's so serious and it's talked to only have been for Christians, and as I am not, I never got around to actually seeing it. And perhaps it's a little too graphic for me.

I want to see the Nativity story because it's not so focused on Jesus perse, and his work for men, but the story of Joseph and the Virgin Mary and the hardships they went through because of the abnormality of the situation.

I never saw the Passion either, but I might like to see this one. So many movies have been produced along these lines, and they're all so low budget and bad! Hopefully this one is better.

I'd really like to see this film! Keisha Castle-Hughes was incredible in Whale Rider so I bet she'll be awesome in this one as well. I'm hoping the score will be good too ;)

I've seen The Passion of the Christ twice. Very gory and graphic but a good film. Very confusing for a non-Christian like me though!

Keisha Castle-Hughes is in several films, as rather.... secondary characters, I never saw the Whale Rider, which I imagine, I should ---- if Keisha Castle-Hughes was nominated for an Oscar for that movie, I should definitely see it. She was only 13-14 when she was nominated. WOW!

How old is she now? And how old is Mary when this all occurred?

I have an interest in this movie, being a very strong Christian... I don't want to see the Passion (for a lot of very long reasons I'm not going into right now) but I'm interested in this one.

Kit, there are varying opinions on exactly how old Mary was. Pretty much it's assumed that she was a teenager though.

I'm sure Keisha Castle-Hughes is a good actress, considering the age at which she was nominated (the same year RotK swept the Oscars, coincidentally) but I kind of wish she hadn't been chosen for Mary... because I don't really approve of Keisha's morals at all, and wish she wasn't chosen to be in one of the leading roles of a very important Christian movie... but that's just my personal opinion.

Anyway, I want to go see it.

After AF said that, I was curious and looked up Keisha. She's 16 and pregnant...

Whoa, this I did not know. I'll just have to reserve judgement, I suppose, because I really do want to see the movie. I assume she got pregnant after they were done filming though...? Cause I know Mary's pregnant, but not for the whole story by a long shot.

Well, I've always thought that she could be in her early twenties, but yeah, I guess it's generally accepted that she was quite young.

I think scholars say she could have been (and mostly likely was) around 14. Eep! That's my age!

Yeah...about Keisha, I'm going to try and judge the movie and not the actors behind it. :) Even if she is...urm...well, not very virtuous.

Ironic she's playing Mary.

(P.S. I saw the movie! It was very good. It seemed quite accurate, I liked how it focused on how life was then and not just the Sunday School picture book version)

It's not like I'm writting off the movie as horrible just because one of the actors is bad, don't worry! I really really want to see it! And my mom actually seems pretty open to taking me...
