Yes, I agree. But it did not actually really break, it was just a vision.

Well, the theory that the breaking Evenstar should symbolize Arwen's (nearing) death sounds very logical to me. So, the scene can't be anything else than a vision, as Arwen doesn't die and so their love represented by the Evenstar doesn't break...
However, I never recognized Aragorn wearing the Evenstar during the "Battle of the Black Gates" scene and I haven't seen it either during the coronation scene. So the pendant must really be buried under all his robes...;)

I think if you pause the scene where he's riding out from Minas Tirth and zoom, I think you can see the necklace.

Really? I must check that out later this day, because I've never recognized it before. :-D Thanks for giving me that hint, Lady Raine!

Well, I haven't had a look at the movies so far, but I searched for screencaps and I've found one pic that definitely shows that Aragorn still wears the Evenstar at the Battle at the Black Gates:

Image

It's taken from the "The Black Gate Opens" scene. I had to search quite long for it, and I think this is one of the few pics where you really see the Evenstar pendant. It must have slipped out from under this armour at that moment, because in all other scenes including the corronation, the necklace is invisible...

So the part where it dose crash has to be a vision! I'll have to watch the EE version to see if it's still there! Thanks Rose!

You're welcome, Lady Raine!

Only 11 more days till Christmas Eve! :)
So, maybe we could have some kind of Christmas-like discussion topic now:

Imagine that the peoples of Middle-Earth would celebrate Christmas as well. How could Arwen's and Aragorn's Christmas celebration look like in your opinion?

They have the White Tree decorated in colored Christmas lights...how about the whole palace in Christmas lights? And all the guards are wearing Santa hats with bells. And on Christmas Eve, there is a huge Christmas Party, and in the feasting hall there is a large tree with presents spilling out from underneath it and the hall is filled with family and firends and there's good food, dancing, singing, and gift exchanges!

Yeah, I could imagine that it would be somehow like this. I like your idea.
Why can't I go to Minas Tirith for just one day? Such a party must be wonderful!
I think Arwen and Aragorn would be great hosts.... :)

Yeah, it'd be great to escape reality and go to Minas Tirith... I think I would like to go there before the War, while the elves were still around. :-D

Yes, I agree! Actualy, I think about it a lot of times. How it would be if I could go there, even for just one day

I don't think I could stay there for a day, if I liked it, I think I might want to stay there for a long time!

Yeah. I think if I were once there, you couldn't get me away from Middle-Earth. :)
I would definitely stay in Minas Tirith for quite a long time and I would also like to visit Rivendell, Lothlorien, Edoras and the Shire. It would be great to travel around with Arwen and Aragorn if they were on a tour through all of their kingdom and the neighbouring regions....
