Absolutely not. Despite how he was portrayed in the movie, he was a really cool and awesome person, and one of the oldest in Middle-earth, having been born in Doriath in the Elder Days.
Would you ever ask Celeborn or Galadriel what they thought about Arwen's resemblance to Luthien, who they both had known?
