Yeah... Some of my charries would be reallllly cool to be, but others, (such as Aearion) Would be a bit wierd.... (i.e. Aearion is blind)
I find it wierd about RPG characters, when you first make them, and don't do anything with them, they are just a possesion. A creation. Thats it. But once you start RPing with them, and mabye after several months, not only do they become people, but they begin to take over themselves. When you write, you arn't writing down what you want Aearion to do, you are writing down what Aearion is doing.
And when you first give him/her a name, thats just it. Its a name. Nothing else. But then, once you 'meet' him/her, and 'get to know' them, that name reveals a personality and a face that is tottally unique. And they're not 'yours' parsey, but really just a friend. A friend that will always know what you want, and what you're thinking. And although that should be scary, its not.
Ok... Sorry for the long speech. I'm done.

Lol, I wouldn't want any of my characters for friends, because I'd always know what they're going to say. It'd be dull having a conversation with them.
Having my characters as enemies, though....that would be a little more interesting, though I'd still know what they'd be doing.

I find that the longer I play with my charries, the better I get to know them. Some of them I feel have a lot of potential, but I have no idea what it is until they get thrown into a situation and I watch them react. For example, I think Rothana has a lot of potential, but the RP she was in kind of died, so I don't know too much about her.

Me too... I have a couple of characters that I don't know very well simply because the RP they were made for died... Its a sad world.

Does anyone else think it would be cool to rp in a chat room? there would have to be a time limit, like an hour or two, and the charries and premise would have to be well-developed beforehand. maybe the chatroom would be for a battle/fight sequence or something ... thots?

I wish I could do that, with so many of my favorite RPs...I hate having to wait for people to post, I wish we could all be in the same chatroom and do it really fast. Of course, it would have to be the right people - I can't STAND bad chat RPing

I think rp`s with too fast posting etc just confuses everyone basicly, one puts up something and other puts up something at the same time creating a contrast

Naw, I think if everyone's putting thought into what they're typing it can work. My stupid computer won't let me in to most chatrooms, though, so it's irrelevent Like, say I wanted to watch FotR in the chatroom today...but nooo...

Excellently said, SG! I create characters usually after I'm inspired by a character from another book, or a special scene in an rpg, etc. When I first begin rping with him/her, I feel tentative because I'm not exactly sure what they really are. But over time, the character takes on a life of its own. Usually when I'm done rping with a character, they're so different than what I initially intended them to be that I can hardly recognize them on the character bio anymore. Not only do they become friends, they become in a way like children. I develope their history, watch them grow, watch them change. It's fun and oftentimes difficult to make choices for them, nudge them on the right path.
And it always depresses me whenever I come to the inevitable realization: They don't exist in this world. I'll never meet them in real life, I'll never get to speak to them. That's it. They're just figments of imagination.

^^Ah! Exelently said as well, LDM! (Sry, can't get used to 'Jimmy' yet..) That comparison to children hit the nail on head! And yes, I am quite dissapointed that I'll never meat any of my characters. I think it'd be very interesting, to say the least. And I completely agree about the whole 'they change until their no longer reconizable by bio' thing. That has happened to me countless times.
But one of the things I find saddest is when you are really proud of and love a character that you made for a specific RPG, and then it dies, your charrie along with it.

Yeah, I know the feeling. It happens to me a lot.
You made the Saphira banner that's in your sig, right? If so, can you PM me the texture or whatever in the background? It's really cool.
Oh, and just a note, you still say "Arya sig by me" even though it's now a Saphira one. Just a heads up on that.

Thanks, Star_Gazer!
So how many people are in RPing moods recently?
EDIT: *jaw drops* I just noticed I'm not on the list yet. Wow. Like twenty pages after I applied and I still haven't been accepted. Should I feel bad? Lol...
