I love hot chocolate! Especially during these colder winter months. Mmm.. Have you ever had French Vanilla hot chocolate? It's sold under Nestlé, but boy is it divine!

I love coffee! I strongly place coffee with feeling secure. My dad drank, well he still does, a LOT of coffee when I was little, so I'll drag my friends into coffee shops just to breathe in the wonderful smell of coffee beans!

and Lauael, you love me? lol!

^My dad used to drink 8 cups a day at least. But since he's been on his diet (and he doen't have sugar) he doesn't drink as much.

And Larael, I don't think I have had that chocolate before. Although Aero, Galazy and Maltezer hot chocolate I have tried. My all time favourite flavour is turkish delight, which you get a variation of in most super markets. :-)

^I'm afraid I never had it before...One of the many foods I have to try. Result of living in America where they make everything American seem so grand. Let's see the list of foods I have to try: mince pies, Turkish delight, I think I'm going to add more to that list soon.

Not sure if they actually sell it here, as I picked it up whilst we were in the US the summer before last. It's quite good, if not a bit sweet.

Back to boy/girl discussions... ;)

*Sits around trying to think of a topic*

Dang, what have we not talked about? :confuzzled:

Oh wait, I have an idea! Okay, guys, if you were on your first date with this girl you wanted to get to know better, would you rather go somewhere where you could talk or somewhere where you wouldn't have to talk? Like, I know that girls like getting to know people by talking with them, but I know that guys aren't as socially equipped. I've also heard that eye contact is uncomfortable for you.

So is your idea of getting to know someone [a girl in particular] going to a movie, where you don't have to carry on a converstation? Do you feel like you will get to know her better that way?

For that subject, I'm divided on that part. Half of me wants to get to know the girl a lot more but the other half is scared that I might get persistent and bore the girl to death. I haven't thought of a plausible first date, actually, so I don't know.

I'm in a similar situation to you Caunion. I haven't actually had a first date, so I have no experience to draw from :P

However, if my sole objective was to get to know her, it would have to be somewhere I could talk to her. That is the best way to get to know someone. But you could end up in a highly uncomfortable situation with nothing to say.

What you say about eye contact may be true in some cases, but I have never had a problem with it. In my opinion, eye contact is important. it helps you understand what a person is thinking, feeling, or saying. And it helps you get to know them.

But as Caunion says, there is part of me that worries about boring the girl, that she may not find me interesting, so really it is a dilemma. If I just wanted to spend some time in her company, going to a movie would be fine.

But I would have to say that going somewhere you could talk is probably best. If nothing else, if you find you have nothing to talk about, it shows that it isn't worth spending time together...

So complicated...

I'd just like to place an emphasis on that fact that talking is extremely important in a relationship or even on a first date for that matter. I have a friend [lets call her Meagan] and she has started going out with a guy [lets call him Griff]. The two of them just sort of came together without much talking, just a mutual agreement. However they NEVER talk to eachother. They sit together at lunch and they go out on dates, but I don't think I've ever heard more than two sentences uttered between them. This makes for a very boring relationship for both parties. Meagan and Griff aren't even going to last the week if they don't start communicating.

This is sort of off topic...but I love your country avvie, and I've seen some other ones around the forum. :P Where did you get them?

Also...yes, communication is one of the most important things in a relationship. In my opinion, the most important thing. How can you be in a true, loving relationship if you barely know the other person?
