Ditto to that. My elvish warriors tend to get high scores, because they kick butt with their sword fighting.

^Aye, but are they beautiful as well Aerandir? Overearthly gorgeous?
In fact, many villains might get high scores as well, only the looks migth drag them down... Bad guys tend to be great fighters, otherwise they would be dead, bad guys...

Lol, Ea. No, my Awesome Elvish Warriors (AEW) aren't beautiful. And they are scarred. But they kick butt with their swords. They are cool. Which means they get high points on that quiz. Grrr.

Hmmm...I just tested Aivon from Unknown Power: The Ignae Kiani, and he got a 7. That's really cool, though it is a little early for him--he's not super developed yet.

We should test someone like Aragorn or someone, just see what he gets. :P Infact, just for fun, I'm gonna go and test Eragon...

EDIT: Aw, nvm. Too hard. Sense it's all 'my character' questions.....

Lol, I think Eragon would score pretty high. So would most main characters, actually.

Enigmatic Swordsmen w/ Dark Pasts? Let's see--that's ESWDP. Kind of a complicated acronym, huh?

That made me giggle.

Mine would be Female Warriors of some type or another...

You know, that's weird you'd say that, because I was reading Eragon yesterday and wondering what he'd get on a MS quiz. I mean, he's got super powers, a dragon, he's blonde-haired and blue-eyed, he's got a scar (for some of the time anyway), he looks he's somewhere between 13 and 21 years old for unnatural or magical reasons, practically-perfect physique, he's got a weapon that was passed down from his father AND his trainer, he's related to Morzan, who was one of the Forsworn and close to Galbatorix AND he grew up not knowing his parents, he's a major part of a prophecy...I could go on!

Eragon is an extreme Marty-Sam. Incredibly so. About as Marty-Sam-ish as it is possible to get.

Is there a check-box for "Has an unknown sibling" on the quiz? Cause he's got that too :) I wonder why I read Eragon...it's a mystery, it really is...

Yeah, I agree... But I really do love Eragon, but he is a Marty Sam. Though I have to admit I like Saphira WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than her was-so-arrogent-now-is-all-powerfull-and-respected rider. :P She's much more...... Sensable.

I know, I was actually just complaining to my friend the other day (after seeing Eragon) that fanfic writers get unfairly judged. If someone's writing a story in an original universe and has a character like Arya or Eragon, everyone loves and adores the characters and thinks nothing of their ridiculous level of perfection. But if I, as a fanfic writer, bring in a character that's half as perfect as Arya, I would be flamed and accused of unoriginality. :annoyed2:

 So true, potr. Maybe you have to be a bona fide writer for people to accept that MSs are a part of literature :)

Seriously... And with all the different fandoms now, its hard - no, impossible - not get flamed and accused of plagerism! :annoyed2:

The philosophy there is that people who read fanfics typically idolize the canon characters anyway. Any MS that gets added will be accused of trying to steal the spotlight from the already awesome canon characters. And typically (as far as I've seen anyway), the beautiful Mary Sues in fanfics fall passionately in love with someone like the Awesome Elvish Warrior (copyright Legolas).

I just don't read Eragon or Eldest unless I'm really bored and want to read something that makes me laugh. Eragon and Arya are too Mary-Sue/Marty-Sam-ish. Even for a supposedly "original" fiction.

I agree with your post, LDM. Actually, though, it's not just the Mary-Sues that fall in love with the AEW (note: not my AEWs!) in a story--in the case of Eragon, Eragon falls in love with the AEW, who is a female this time around.
