My estimate is mid- to late-30s, though no one really knows (I suspect that not even the writers know exactly). The problem is that Johnny Depp himself is so ageless that it's always impossible to tell how old his characters are supposed to be. But based on the basic timeline that I do know of Jack's past, I'd say that the very youngest he could be is 33 or so (though I'm pretty sure he's at least a few years older than that). I do think, though, that he tries to come across as a bit older than he actually is. He became a captain at such a young age that he's no doubt used to having to act much older in order to gain any sort of respect from his crew.

I got the DVD today! soo happy! ok, what were we talking about? Jack? age? hmm...well you all seem about right to me do...no comment, sorry, Im hyper and happy, DVD! YAH! watched the bloopers, and some bihind the sence stuff...funny...my mom said it was too late to watch the move though  ...oh well, Ill just watch it tomarrow.

Yay!!! I just finished watching some of the Behind the Scenes stuff too....amazing the amout of work put into this movie.

That's what I had originally thought, but on the POTC wiki, it said he was 41.

Well, the wiki isn't always acurate... though probably it's more so than IMBD.
I dreamed about PotR last night... it was kind of weird...

I don't dream about A-U very often, I'm more likely to dream about the other forum I'm on... but I do dream about it occasionally.

I'm pretty sure the wiki is right on his age, since Elizabeth's and Will's were right, and those were practically the only other ones not listed as unknown.

That's what I had originally thought, but on the POTC wiki, it said he was 41. Eh...that's how old Johnny was at the time of CotBP, but as I said, it's too hard to determine how old he truly is. Going solely off of Johnny's age, I would also place him in his 40s. But based on the history of Jack that I know, he's probably late 30s. The only thing is that I'm not sure how long he worked for the EITC as a captain, which is essentially the only unknown factor in his age. Like I mentioned, he was quite young when he first became a captain, and for him to be 41, he would have to have worked for the EITC for about ten years (which I don't think he did). But I could be wrong. Once things slow down with post-production on AWE and we start actually seeing T&T around again, I may ask about it. It's bugging me now.
