Ok, you guys may find this harsh and dont get me wonrg, Billy Boyd rocks and does this scene fantastically, but why is everytime i see his face in slow motion when he grabs the palantir, i can't help but laugh my head off.

It's so amusing!

I do not seem to share the sense of humor that you possess--I can find no cause to laugh in that scene unless I think of what I know they say in the commentary at that point.

When I look at that scene, all I see is pure terror, and Pippen trying to break free of an unimaginable evil force! So I have to agree with Aerandir.

I'm sort of siding with Elfin Maiden too. I don't really see the humor in the scene like you guys do. I found it to be a very dark and intense scene the first time I saw it. But that's just me i guess.

I'm going to have to agree with these guys. The first time I saw the scene, it actually scared me, and normally LotR doesn't do that to me :confuzzled:

Well of course! It is fantastically acted out and the scene serves it's purposes well. Billy Boyd is fantastic at this point within the movie and it's not funny what is happening to him, it's just the expression he pulls. I don't tend to take everything too seriously when i watch LOTR so often lol.
