I wouldn't like to see OB in the Hobbit Legolas wasn't in it to start out with. I wonder who they'd have to play Thranduil. Legolas might have been in the battle of five armies though...

I might be wrong, but wasn't there a mention, though insignificant (although Legolas himself isn't insignificant), about Legolas in the Hobbit? Correct me if I'm wrong.
You raise a good point, Peredhil-Lover. I agree with you, although I'm slightly confuseda bout the Battle of Five Armies, though:blink:. Please don't smite me for not knowing, great and wonderful memers of arwen-undomiel.com

I think maybe a real quick cameo of Legolas maybe at the Battle of Five Armies would be a nice touch but nothing more then that. Seeing as he wasn't mentioned in the Hobbit at all. But it is quite possible he could have been at the battle

I agree with you, Irish Fire. A small cameo would be nice. Maybe even something that you would have to look twice at to see .

Well, if Legolas was in the Hobbit it would have been like a small mention (probabley at best). Though I still think that if there is indeed a movie of it that Orlando Bloom and Legolas Greenleaf should be in it. As far as I'm concerned LotR movies just wouldn't be the same without them.
Elwing_Star_Spray, Well, I think that all of the orginal actors and actresses should all be in it as well as all of the main LotR characters. Seeing as though that there parts in the book were little to non existing that their parts in the movies should be small as well. I'm simply against taking out any of the charaters (except for extras and right above them). It just wouldn't be the same. I'm also against changing actors unless they just have to because one of the kicks the bucket or something along those lines.
If I get a vote they all stay put inclueding but not limited to Legolas and Orlando Bloom.
My mind is made and my heart is set and I will defend it at all costs! Um, does anybody know if there is a put Leggy and Orli in the Hobbit petition? If there isn't somebody needs to make one and I promise that if there is I will sign it. As I've said I'm ready and willing to defend!

I respectfully disagree, Drew's Destiny. I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, I just don't feel the same way. If none of the characters in the Lord of the Rings weren't in The Hobbit, then they shouldn't be in a movie-version of The Hobbit. I like Legolas and Orlando Bloom, but if Legolas wasn't mentioned at all in The Hobbit, then he shouldn't be in the movie-version. I like all the characters in The Lord of the Rings, but if they weren't in The Hobbit, they shouldn't be in the movie (I know, I'm repeating myself a tad). Putting The Lord of the Rings characters in The Hobbit movie just to please people who want them in because they like them a lot isn't a good enough reason. The movie should stick to the book.
Again, I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, Drew's Destiny, I just don't agree with you is all .

I'm all for starting the petition!
I am torn between wanting Legolas to be in it (coz I love him ) and not, because it's not in the book. I mean, it would be fun to have him as just an extra elf in a part like...where the dwarves are chasing the elves around, or the battle, but I can't really see Orlando being an extra. And if it wasn't Orlando, then how would we know it was Legolas? Sorry if I'm repeating what other people have said.

I agree with you, Lostariel. We wouldn't know it was Orlando Bloom as an extra unless we really, really look for him. I also can't see him being an extra. Idea: What if there was a flashback, and Legolas was in it, with Orlando Bloom playing him????

hmmm I dunno... I think Orlando would be too expensive to get a little line in it. I mean... He is now a great actor and he only plays now the main characters...but it would be nice if he play in the hobbit

Orlando Bloom would probably have to be paid more money than it's worth just to have him play an extra, Ardanwen, so I agree with you. Maybe he would be nice enough to do it without being paid a high salary .
