Out of curiosity, about how many RPs have you all started?

Maybe 20 over my whole time at AU, including the old forum. Not that many, i like joining them rather than starting them.

I've started a grand total of four... and only two of them have gotten past page 15.

I think only one of mine has gotten past page 15...the Mary-Sue one. That was pretty funny, for a while there

I think the only one I started was the Stargate one ... I'm lazy; I prefer to join when I see a plot with a lot of potential. What types of RPs do ppl prefer? Or what are your top three or four favorite kinds?

I've started one also-it didn't get too far. lol
I'm not sure if I prefer one type of RP over another. I've joined LotR ones, random fantasy ones, sci-fi, army/spying, Oregon Trail, modern day, Mary-Sue-icidal ones, historical ones, and enjoyed them all!

I like random fantasy ones best, but PotC ones are good too. Right now my favorites are Star Crystal (I'm actually addicted to that one), The Elements, Ignae Kiani and Legends Made Real, and those are all random fantasy ones. I guess they leave open the most breathing room, so you can be creative.

I agree with you, Meldawen. I like 'random fatasy' ones (to quote you) because like you said, they are open for creativity. I've never been in a PotC one... They never really appealed to me. LotR ones are ok, but having so many obsessed Tolkien purists around sometimes gets things... Annoying. I mean, I'm obssesed, but I'm still not completely Tolkien savvy. Therefore its easy to get frusterated when people keep correcting you on ME history and all... Anyway, just thought I'd put in my thoughts.
Oi. Still sick. (Its been going around, and guess who just happened to catch it on the weeked of her youth retreat...)

Actually, that'd be quoting Elenya
I used to be obsessed with LotR RPs but there's just not very much room for new things, because Tolkien made his world so complete. And yes, I'm not very ME-history savvy either, so I agree. Anyway, I sort of just discovered when I posted that that my four favorite are random fantasy. Sorta weird
Awww, what a drag! My whole family except me and my dad were sick over Christmas, but it's mostly gone now.

Alright then, to quote Elenya!
And yeah.. I thought for the longest time that LotR RPGs would always be my favorite, but... I kinda found that random fantasies were more to my liking.
Yes... Drag it is... It was a little worse yesterday, but I am sick of it, not two days into it. Not to mention I am losing my voice bit by bit... lol, and my mom is waiting on my hand and foot, which is a good thimg I suppose, but she is CONSTANLY asking my what I want to eat, drink, how I feel, ect. Thankfully my sisters are on the retreat, so they can't bug me... But sick on christmas! I don't believe thats ever happened to me... If it did I was little. But still! That sounds horrible!

Woot! I'm being quoted! lol
I was into LotR RPs when I first started, but then I kinda lost some interest, and started joining more non-lotr ones. I joined one PotC RP, but those haven't interested me much either. lol

I started out with the LotR rps the most, I believe. I gradually lost interest in them, then moved onto the general 'fantasy' ones, as well as a handful of Eragon/PotC.

I think it's time to introduce something new...
RPG IDEA OF THE MONTH
Send in your entry(s) detailing the setting/plot and title (anything you would include in your first post) of an original RPG of your creation. Has to be a new idea; no threads you've already posted. No limit on length or genre. PM me your entries or post them here.
Deadline: February 10.
