I've noticed a lot of people start new threads about something because they can't find the old thread so I'm just wondering ---- do you use the search tool?
Why? Why not?
Do you know how to use the tool? Are there any confusion of how you should enter things for certain topics?

Never. My poor brain has never fully understood all the little boxes and options, so I don't know who to use it.

Ditto what JF said. I'm always so daunted and confused by all of the options it's sort of like Just let me search the flippin' name/topic!!
Those clarifications or whatever they are just get in the way.

I use it a lot of times, it saves from wasting lots of time. I am not confused however. I did not know that there are several people who does not know how to use the tool. Maybe mods should consider preparing a brief explanation about how that tool works.
I know mods ignore me but I said my ideas nonetheless.

I've used the Search function a couple of times when looking for certain threads or people, but it doen't seem to work so well.
Can it be changed to be more customized?
I would like a search function that worked more like Google so you could search for words or sentences in a specific word order.
And perhaps more search options, as in search for a title or search for the text in a post... 
Ohh and another thing. Sometimes it would help if people posted more accurate topic titles, other than 'Viggo is hot...' (though I can't deny the facts, lol) but that might just be me...  _________________ >>Be the change you wish to see in the world<<

Strangely enough, the search tool has always really satisfied me... and I only use the <i>Search for Keywords</i>, <i>Search for Author</i>, and the <i>Forum</i> option. I never bother with the other Search Option tools.
<b>Captain Faramir:</b> As it seems there are a lot of people who don't seem to know how to use it, that might be a very good idea.

Meh.. the search tool is much too confusing for my brain. I rarely ever use it, unless I'm looking for a thread for reference on something else, or if I'm looking for a certain person.

Yeah I can only agree. I've used the search tool once or twice, but my poor little brain doesn't really know how it works and I just find it a bit confusing so I just look for the threads myself.

I was looking for a certain Boromir thread the other day, but gave up as there are too many Boromir threads... *sigh*
Perhaps it would actually be an idea to make people aware there is a Search function, seems there is a lot who doesn't know... perhaps it could help at least some people to find what they look for _________________ >>Be the change you wish to see in the world<<

To do poor search function a little justice, I actually recently found a thread I was looking for!! But I still don't think the search for 'and' and 'or' function works so well...
