!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It didn't kill Locke though, so it was simply judging who was worthy? I don't know. Nor do I particularly care, I doubt we're ever going to find out, and I'm not very imaginative.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!END SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SPOILERS....MAYBE .
We'll find out everything by the end of the show. The writers have pretty much promised that. They also said they wanted to stop around episode 100.

They're just going to kill it off? I doubt that'll happen, if they're making enough money. But hey, if they do, good for them.

No the creators and the execs at ABC are working together to make an end date for the series. They want to end it on a high note. One of the writers said he thought episode 100 would be the perfect ending episode. And they also said by the end we'll know everything we need/want to know.

Well how many epsiodes have we had...22...22...22...well we should be good for another 2 series' at least. Originally they said they had enough material for 7-8 series' worth, but I've heard now they want to wrap it up at 5-6 series' as LOST is losing viewers, I mean in the UK it's lost one million viewers - and considering there's probably only 6 million viewers anyway, that's a huge amount to lose. So I can quite easlity see LOST ending in 2 or 3 years time.

Yeah, it took a huge drop here too. It was the biggest show on the air here, racking up just as many viewers as American Idol, but now it's dropped seriously by... numbers beyond count

I think one problem is people don't want to think when they watch tv. They want everything spelled out for them in an easy to understand format, which Lost is definitely not.
Also the way in which they did the shows this season was ridculously stupid. Six episodes and then a four month break? People lost interest because the writers didn't have enough time to spend on the lostaways and spent more time on the Others in the first six episodes. They admit themselves it was a mistake.

Errm....I don't wish to offend any Americans out there...it's just going to be an example of how we British view the Americans....but we've always said of the Americans what you have just said - if they have to actually think about what they are watching, they don't bother....I mean I've noticed in American films they even have subtitles that read LONDON when you clearly see St. Paul's Cathedral and red buses and and London underground signs.....so I'm amazed actually that LOST is doing so well, even though the figures have dropped.
As I said, the figures have only dropped in the UK as CH4 lost the rights - believe it or not, lots of people on the UK do not have Sky...otherwise LOST would have the same amount of viewers as normal.
Yeah ME said that it has been proven it was a bad idea having that strange break and they won't be doing it again. I actually like the first 6 episodes being about the Others - we've had 2 years of knowing nothing about them, it was about time we found out some things - but having the Others episodes showing before the break, probably wasn't a good idea either. It wouldn't have been too much of a problem if people knew "oh, next week it's back to normal" instead of having to wait 6 weeks. *dies*

It's true...to an extent. I had a discussion about this in my theatre apprciation class. But there are some people in the US who deplore the amount of reality tv rubbish and want something more.
I can probably think of some more American stereotypes but I guess we don't want to go into that .
