Well, I wasn't that sure if he really wanted Eowyn because of the conversation the two had during TTT and the fact that his heart still belonged to Arwen. But I definitely thought that he would marry Eowyn when Arwen had left Middle-Earth. So I was really happy when I found out that Arwen stayed. :)

Honestly, I don't see how anyone could be unhappy when A&A are reunited at the end of ROTK, because they'd been through so much to stay together. But, this is just me talking...and I'm a crazy AA fangirl. :)

I also asked myself that question before...;)

I completely agree with you about the question and the AA fangirlishness. :)

Well, it's time for a new topic again:
Do you think Eowyn could really understand Aragorn's motives for rejecting her love and the meaning that his relationship with Arwen had for him? Or do you think she envied Arwen later when she was Queen?

Well, I think that right after Aragorn's rejection she was pretty wounded, but later when Aragorn married Arwen she probably didn't mind so much because of Faramir. :) My opinion is that after she met Faramir and fell in love with him, her little crush on Aragorn died and she was content to just be friends with the King of Gondor and happy for him and his new wife.

^Yep, I think so as well.
But I guess her relationship to Aragorn might have been slightly influenced by his former behaviour and the rejection of her love. But I think in the end she definitely realized that Faramir was the right man for her. :) And perhaps she was even a bit happy to see Arwen and Aragorn re-united in the end after all that the two had been through.

I definately agree. I think that Eowyn was probably upset for awhile, and didn't want to understand. But after Arwen and Aragorn were married, I think that Eowyn would have understood. After all, she has her Faramir. :P

(And I have to add a note that I am also a crazy AA fangirl. :P)

I'm a crazy AA fangirl as well. So, we've all got something in common. :) (hardly surprising concerning this club ;))

Do you think Eowyn and Arwen could have ever been friends, or would there be too much standing between them?

I believe they would have been good firends.

Well, maybe not best-friends-till-the-end type friends, but I do think that since their husbands were friends they probably were also.

Yep, I agree that they would be friends somehow, but I think Eowyn would still feel a bit strange towards Arwen, as they both have once fought for the love of one man.

Do you think Aragorn would have married Eowyn if Arwen had really left Middle-Earth for Valinor?

He probably would not. I think he would have married someone else and Eowyn and Faramir may have still fallen in love.

I can't imagine that either. I mean he clearly rejected Eowyn's love in RotK and I guess that she didn't want him that much anymore after she had get to know Faramir.
In addition to that it would have been against Aragorn's principles in a way. He knew that he hurt Eowyn's feelings and I can't imagine that he would ask her to marry him afterwards. That would have been like "when I can't get Arwen, I'll take the next best woman"...

For the first: I think that they would be friends. Like Anie Surion said, not wonderful/very best friends kind of thing, but I think they would still be friends.

I can't really imagine Aragorn marrying Eowyn. They just don't really fit well together in the end. And she still has her Faramir. :P

Okay, it's time for a new topic:

What might Elrond have thought about Arwen's dicision to give up her immortality and to remain in Middle-Earth to become Aragorn's wife. Do you think he completely accepted her choice and understood her motives? Do you think he might have felt anger towards his daughter or towards Aragorn?
