Yes. Most definitely under "lightsaber." Do you think we can get X-wings to fall under that category, too, maybe?

Yes and whatever you want to do.
Rudolph, do you pronounce Adanil "ai deh nel" or "a deh nel"? This has nagged me for quite some time now. The name sounds elven.
Switching the topic to pronunciations - when you make up a character do you normally know how to pronounce his/her name? I usually sound out the general name, but other times I resort to the ambiguously pronounceable just because it looks cool in text.

Usually I do know how to pronounce my charrie's names, and they're pretty phonetic. I've only had a few small exceptions-Braad (BRA-ad) and Solech (SOL-ech) are the only ones I'm thinking of right now. Then there's the name Cu'scath, which I think is rather awkward to pronounce, but it looks so cool! lol

It drives me nuts if I don't know how to pronounce a name. Books with unpronounceable names irritate me to no end - I love it when there's a pronunciation guide in the back. So needless to say, I know exactly how to say all my characters' names.
Also, once I'm used to a pronunciation I have a horrible time getting used to changing it. Like, if you tell me Adanil isn't pronounced Ah-dah-nil like I've been saying it, I'm gonna go do a

I've always pronounced Adanil like AI-dah-nil. (AI as in rain)
Half my characters have unpronounceable names. In fact, the rpers I know in real life have often resorted to dainty little conveniences like "the T guy" or "the K guy." I usually sound out the first few syllables and let my fingers spasm out the rest.

Heh...I'm still not 100% certain how to pronounce Kjan's name . I go back and forth on how strongly the 'k' is pronounced. Really just depends on my mood.
But all my other characters are generally pretty easy to pronounce. Closest thing to difficult that I can think of would maybe be my newest character in Valera's RPG (Ambassador Rina Natasi), but it's still relatively easy to figure out. REE-nah Nah-TAH-see.

EDIT: Nevermind, I got one now.

For my names, I come up with a starting letter, then go from there to something that sounds cool and fits the personality. I try to be phonetical. So Jateyani [jay tEah nee](Phantom Grey) I thought sounded somewhat strong -son of a noble, seemed to fit with me.

Lol, Melda and LDM. I should totally not tell you how I pronounce Adanil, just so you never find out which of you is right. Kind of like the pronunciation of 'Aerandir,' eh?
I find that so hilarious.
Anyways, I always know how I pronounce my character's names, because I sound it out in my head as I write it.

Welcome back, Tur!
I have another question- how do y'all come up with names for RPs you start? I have several ideas, but I have a heck of a time coming up with titles! lol

Really, I just try and be creative, but something like the main idea of the plot or something catchy!
And thanks!

I just start making odd sounds and going off ones that I think sound like they could be a name. I also look at names that I like and change them.

Lol. To come up with names for my RPGs, I basically just think of something that goes along with the plot of the RPG, and then write it. It's never been a hard thing for me to do.

Nobody has posted here. For four days. Where'd y'all go!?!?!?!? This awesome thread needs you to come back. It requires it. I require it, and I know you all like me too much to refuse.
So.....who is your current favorite RPG character, and why?
LDM and Melda, I know your answers, but...maybe, just maybe, others don't.
