 I agree! Comedies like this aren't just made anymore sadly.

^ so many brilliant lines! it's rare a film makes me laught out loud, but some like it hot did several times over.

on a more serious note, i just watched elephant. the quietness of it wall was really powerful, and alex frost was chillingly brilliant, but the rest of the performances were weak, which spoiled it.

Hehe, that is a very funny film. Not the funniest for me though, Bringing Up Baby is for me, the funniest film I have ever seen.

Romeo + Juliet

1996 version. Eh. I don't know if I liked it or not. The death scene ruined it.

^ 1996? that's the baz luhrman version, right? i thought the death scene was really good until claire dane's tried to cry and failed miserably. it was certainly better than the death scene in the stage version i saw.

last film i watched was how to marry a millionaire. i love lauren bacall, and the end was great.

Aww I really like that version though. I saw it in theater when it came out together with my sister and cousin and we were all bawling like babies. We all had a thing for Leo at the time :teehee:

But I agree, Claire's attempt at crying makes me sort of laugh which ruins the whole scene

Ooh, my English class watched that. Then the parents complained because of the nudity and stuff, so we didn't watch it anymore after that. ;)

Anyway, I watched the 1991 Disney version of Beauty and the Beast with my mom - it was actually fun. (Belle is my clone - I'm serious. :P)

Eru and ethelfleda: I dunno, I just didn't like that fact that they had her wake up before he died, and that they got rid of "Oh happy dagger!" So yeah.

Watching "Half Nelson"

I watched the end of Batman Returns and the beginning of Batman Forever. They were on TV this morning while I was getting ready, and I love Batman, so I watched them. Michael Keaton makes a better Batman than Val Kilmer though. It made me want to see Batman Begins again. [Christian Bale ]

Just watched The Illusionist last night, and really like Edward Norton. It was great!

the her waking up thing isn't anything new though - i believe it started with the 1976 royal shakespeare production, starring ian mckellen.

well, today i watched the philadelphia story (absolutely fantastic) and guess who's coming to dinner (couldn't stand sidney poitier's character). the beeb showed them because today would have been katherine hepburn's 100th birthday.

i also started watching rebecca, which was on because it would have been daphne du maurier's 100th birthday this month too. unfortunately i had to switch channels half way through as any dream will do was on, but i'll watch it again when i get home because i love it so. laurence olivier is simply wonderful as maxim (incidentally, it's his centenary this month too, but i guess they'll mark it nearer the time).

wow, that was an unnecessarily long post.
