And having Bootstrap kill him? Come on. That was the most random part of the movie. I think it immediately biased me toward the rest of the movie. It might have been amazing, but I pouted through the rest of it.

Yeah, i was a little ticked. He was only on for like two minutes in the movie too....Another thing I didn't like was Calypso getting huge and turning into a bunch of crabs. Everyone carried on fine after. I thought that it was cheesey and a little lame. They could've planned that better, maybe making her just like go down underwater and stay there, or maybe be a wave or something not so lame?

Oh my goodness, I'm so glad that someone finally agrees with me. I thought the Calypso thing was a waste of time, personally. It was kind of a cop out, I think.

Indeed it was. All it did, really, was provide them with a whirlpool, which could've happened on its own if they really wanted it to.

Yeah... like turn into water right there... hear her luaghing as she created a whirlpool... or something to harm which ever side she ends up against(I still can't tell who she was against). I could even think of better things than her turning into crabs! And could anyone tell what she was saying when she was all big and voice deep?

I finally saw it! It was amazing. And to join the group here, I too cried when Will was stabbed. To tell the truth I honestly didn't see that coming, but it was a nice twist to the plot.

totally didn't expect it.

yeah, back to the calypso thing, it looked like she was dancing when she was shaking her head! totally bugged me. i also realized (sorry if i am late on this lol) the beginning song, hoist the colours, is totally based on calypso. "the king and his men stole the queen from her bed, and bound her in her bones".

so that brings me to my next question...was she a bunch of crabs before? lol and then they made her human form?? whatever i didnt like that part. whirpool was cool though

Although, I'm still not pleased with the distorting of mythology for story purposes. It ticks me off a LOT!

On the Hoist The Colors subject... Was Jones the Pirate King that long ago? The King and his men is was it says, and the Brethren Court bound her in her bones. And since she had Jones were lovers, that would make her Queen.

Even if he was King because she was Queen of the sea because she's its goddess, it would make no sense because the Court bound her, not Jones's crew.

No, and they explain it all in the movie.

Before Elizabeth, there was only 1 other pirate king, and that would be the one they're talking about in the song. That is because usually every pirate lord would vote on him/herself to be the king... because they all want to be the king... but Jack changed that so Elizabeth became king.

Also, Davy Jones thought that Calypso betrayed him by turning him into a squid-face... but he did that to himself by not doing his job(chartering soals to the other side). So, since he thought that she betrayed him, he told the Brethren court how to bind Calypso into a human form.

Man, I hope I'm right... but that's what I gathered from the movie! lol!

Also, when Will was stabbed, one of my friends (an obsessive Will fangirl) yelled a very rude word at the screen and then burst into tears rather loudly, it ruined the moment for everyone I think
