Ok, so right now I'm writing this story and it was going really well. But now I've been in this insane writer's block for awhile and I can't see to get out of it. Does anyone out their have any suggestions?

Gah- I hate writer's block!
You might try skipping ahead to a different part of the story, going back and rewriting part, or even setting it aside for awhile. Maybe if you just went back and read some of the story, you'd get inspired again. Working on character profiles could help to.
One thing I like to try is freewriting- pick a random topic and write whatever comes to mind about that topic. Writing prompts can help, too. Here's a site with a bunch of different ones- http://www.writersdigest.com/writingpro ... to=closead

When I hit writer's block, I skip ahead to where I know what I'm doing, then just work to connect them... it usually works.

Quote: My creative writing teacher says to sit down and force yourself to write, even if you have writer's block. No matter what comes to mind, write it down, whether it be a paragraph or a bulleted list of ideas.
Gah, That has a tendancy (for creative writing at least, poetry less so) to just waste time generally. A thing I find (it helps with poetry mostly but can be applied to the other writing) is to write spontaneously, as it flows, rather than try to force it. It seems to work better that way, but thats my call

Here's what I do:
* I give myself permission to write crappily, then write it.
* I listen to lots of music, specifically songs with themes relating to the piece I'm working on.
* Sometimes, just sitting down and making myself write something, anything, works. That goes back to "writing crappily" though. =]
After all that if I still can't write, I take a nice long break. Anywhere between two weeks or two months, usually. When I come back to writing, my mind's refreshed and I'm totally ready to take on new and old projects!
Hope you get through that icky old writers' block! I know it's no fun at all!
