Amadeus- Watched it in film class, it was actually good for a movie about classical music. The ending was so sad, though!

a film adaptation of endgame, a play by samuel beckett. really good - very similar to waiting for godot in many ways, but different enough for it to still be interesting.

Just watched The Shawshank Redemption. I hadn't seen it in forever, well over 12 years ago that I last saw it so I honestly couldn't remember what I thought of it back then (which is why I wanted to see it again since it's one of the highest rated films of all time), but I must say it was probably the most uplifting and inspiring movie I've ever seen. I've never felt so at peace towards the end of a movie before!

I LOVE Amadeus. The director's cut is even better. Tom Hulce's performance as Mozart is spot on, just brilliant. The music is spectacular too of course

Monty Python and the Holy Grail and The Princess Bride - okay, you haven't lived until you've watched these two with your best guy friend. It's so much fun!!! Especially if he loves them too, and will quote them with you on a regular basis. :P

^^You are SOO right! Those two movies should be globally required in life. You HAVE to watch those two movies....and not just once, but at least once a year. :P

Hot Fuzz is supremely awesome. Simon Pegg is just brilliant in everything.

Last things I watched were:

Jesus Camp - There are no words to describe accurately how this made me feel. Disturbing.

Hell House - This is as absurd as it is disturbing and in parts just amusing.

Yeah. Basically, he's the *beep*. :P And so are Nick Frost and Edgar Wright. I basically worship those three. ;)

Anyway, I couldn't really sleep last night and found "Erin Brockovich" on the TV. I really love this movie. Really very good. And Julia's performance, I SWEAR to god....she looks and acts EXACTLY like one of my aunts. XD  XD

And I haven't seen this "Jesus Camp" ya'll are talking about. I've HEARD of it though. Which is why I haven't seen it. ;)

I didn't want to see it either but I needed to. I knew it would be the most disturbing thing I've ever seen but it's one of those documentaries you have to see! I know a site where you can watch it for free online, let me know if you want the link!

Just to put my two cents in (non offensively of course) , and from what I've heard about Jesus Camp [from many different sources] is that it's a bad movie . As a Christian, my goal in life is not to hurt anyone, but help them and be kind to everyone. This movies sounds like a portrayal of "Christians" who definatly not on the same level as I am. I understand why you guys think this is a disturbing movie, and you have every right to say that. I just wanted to voice my opinion on this movie.

Anyways... the last movie I watched was Return of the Jedi.

please don't judge christianity on the basis of films like jesus camp. whatever they may say, fundamentalist christians do NOT follow the teachings of Christ - He preached love, and they preach hate. they do not represent the God i follow, and they do not represent the majority of christians. as a christian, they terrify and disturb me as much as they terrify and disturb you; and i hate the idea that people might think we're all like that, because it's simply not true.

anyway, we're not meant to talk about religion, so i'd better get on topic...last thing i watched was confessions of a teenage drama queen. i didn't intend to watch it - it just happened to be on. i normally detest chick flicks, but this one was cheesy enough to get away with it.

I didn't mean to offend you (or anyone else). But like Eru, I wanted to see this. No needed to see this for myself. I don't like to form opinions on something unless I've seen it for myself.
I'll be honest with you...it truly scared me. It's not a portrayal of anyone. It doesn't take any stance with any particular group or stance. It shows you what happens..and as I said. It scared me, angered me and made me cry.
I'm not and never have said all Christians are like the ones in this movie. But the ones in this movie...are terrifying.

And sadly this group of evangelical fundamentalists are growing by the minute. I know they do not represent all people of the Christian faith but they are the ones who are the loudest. No child should ever have to go through what these kids have gone through since birth. It's pure and utter fascistic brainwashing!

I think it's important that everyone see this documentary whether they want to or not! These kids are the future leaders of America. We should be afraid. Very afraid!

People do need to see it. Irrespective of what religion or faith you might be. It's that important.
These things need to be seen and not ignored hoping they'll go away.

^ i know you guys weren't saying that all christians are like that, and i didn't feel personally offended, it's just an automatic reaction for me to defend my faith, because sadly a lot of people do think we are all crazy.

i haven't actually seen jesus camp myself (though i've read about it and seen other documentaries like it) so could you possibly give me the link to watch it online? thanks.

Go to this user's channel:
http://www.brightcove.tv/channel_all_up ... rstVideo=0

The Jesus Camp film is in eight parts (just search the pages of the channel). There are some other equally frightening docos on there as well, like "Hell House" and "Life And Liberty For All Who Believe". Watch them all!

My post was more of general. It wasn't aimed at anyone specifically. I just felt I needed to explain myself a bit further.
