Geeez, looks like I need to see this movie.

Anyway, one of my FAVOURITE films EVER!
"My Fair Lady".
Awwwwwww, this is SUUUUCH a wonderful film! *SQUEE* SOOO romantic. :P And cute! And darling. And I just LOOOVE it!

"Where the devil are my slippers?!!"

XD  XD

EDIT: "Bend It Like Beckham"! SUCH a feel good movie! Makes me want to run out and play football! :P HURRAY!

And then "Psycho. I'm not a huge Hitchcock fan, but I really love this movie. And I think part of that has to do with Anthony Perkins. I think he's an amazing actor...and for some strange reason, I'm oddly attracted to him. ;)

Across the Universe. Despite what other people said, I thought it was a great movie...Of course, my idea of a good movie can be argued. But I really liked Max! He was such an awesome character.

Isn't it just one of the best films ever? :D It is my favourite musical (although the Phantom of the Opera featuring the uber sexy Phantom is close behind). I just wish Jeremy Brett had been in it more... he is so swoon worthy... especially as Sherlock Holmes 20 years later.... :swoon:

*slaps self out of trance*

Anyway I have seen:

The Best Years Of Our Lives - This is one of my favourite war films that actually doesn't involve anything fighting and there's not an enemy in sight. It's another example of how diverse the war film genre is, as this films centres on three members of the armed forces - navy, army and air force, going back home and trying to pick up the threads of an old life. I think it's ahead of it's time trying to show that it wasn't always easy for these men to go back home and be happy, and also by showing that people did get injured (a real veteran who lost both his hands actually had a co-starring role) and also that they suffered from shock at what they went through. I'm sorry that this DVD has been sitting on my self since I saw it on TV and then went out and bought it, without my watching it for such a long time. The only reason I watched it was because I am going through a Dana Andrews phase (:-o :swoon: ) but I'm more than glad I decided to see it again.

King Kong - This is such a sad film. :-( It's quite depressing really, and in it's own way, quite nasty. I think it's brilliant though, even though the last 20 minutes are hard going. I just love how PJ has expanded on the the world of Kong. I have been saying for years that the 1933 film, didn't fully explore the island and the terrors within. But this film is really about the relationship between Anne and Kong. It's a beautiful, tragic love story, that could have been really cheesy, but was handled with dignity, thanks to a realistic Kong whose expressions convey more than words could ever do. Naomi Watts also does a great job as Anne, and I thought Jack Black was great as Carl Denham. He just had this madness in his eyes, which went well with his character. It is pretty gruesome in some parts though, which doesn't normally bother me, but I liked some of the characters who met sticky ends. Poor ol' Lumpy. I am glad that my Captain Englehorn came through though. :D I personally think this is a much better film than the orignal.... and anyone who says the 1933 King Kong looks better than Serkis' and Weta's Kong.... is a fibber. ;)

^^Ha ha ha ha! Yeah, it is by far one of my favourite films ever! One of my favourite musicals as well. I actually got to work on a professional production of it! I met an actor working on a community play, and he owns/runs this professional theatre, and we talked about his summer shows. And I found out they were putting on "My Fair Lady" and I about died! :P And he offered me an internship to wok on that play! *SQUEEE*

And yeah, I LOOOVE PJ's King Kong. I'm a fan of the original...and you're right. Saying it's better than Serkis or WETA is bogus. :P But there's just SOMETHING about that original that I just love. Perhaps its the fact its an old film....and I love old films. But the ending of PJ's King Kong had me BAWLING like a little girl. Every time I watch it, it does. :P

ANYWAY, the most recently watched movie that I watched was "Sin City". :notworthy:
This movie PWNS. :notworthy:
It's SOOOO freakin' amazing.
:swoon:

She's the Man - This movie has made me look forward to reading Twelfth Night for English class. Sad, isn't it? :P

the end of Hamlet - it only took us a freakin' MONTH to finish! And that's a really depressing play too. At least Ian Holm was there for most of it. :D

The Manchurian Candidate [Oringinal Version]- Um, I didn't watch the whole thing, because I wasn't very interested. My mom was watching it and I just saw bits and pieces of it (whilst working on homework :P)

@ Monty - Oh, wow. I would love the chance to work on a proper production of anything, but something as wonderful as My Fair Lady. You have worked on MFL and you get loads of Brit TV. Gah, sooo lucky. :P

Hehe, I love the original as well, and it's amazing work for the time it was made. I love the fact though, that PJ's version does show everyone (and not just the people who saw through the "monster" in the '33 version) that Kong is the victim of the real monster(s). I love all the references to the '33 version as well. He's not copying, he's paying tribute which is nice. :-)

@ Darky - Hehe, thank you. So I can't use it either? :P

From Here To Eternity - This is such a great war film. There's not a lot I can say about it really. It has a great story with all these characters whose stories are woven together and based around a barracks on Hawaii, just before Pearl Harbour, and how ultimately their fates are decided on that day, December 11th 1941. And the acting is just superb. And anyone who says Frank Sinatra can't act, is a liar, he was awesome in this.... and so what is the Mafia made sure he got an Oscar... the guy deserved it. ;) And Burt Lancaster was as delicious as ever. :swoon:

Psycho- it's gotta be the best horror movie I've ever seen! *cough* Ok, so I've only seen about 3 movies that actually are considered horror...but still! Hitchcock is a genius! I knew the ending and plot twists, but it still had me hugging a pillow and picking at my fingernails.

Go see it. It's tremendous.
He does such an excellent job as the big bad. He totally owns the entire movie. Ian McShane is also very very good. Was weird seeing him being all benevolent after his stint in Deadwood though
