LOL I did notice. I also noticed the glare Aragorn shot at him as Legolas just walks past them. But he was walking on this wooden board and I guess they wouldn't want to stress the boards. I don't know. I don't think that was intentionally portraying him that way, anyhow. And it's not really a simple matter of just having a backpack appear on his back. For instance, you know the scene where Legolas flips on to the horse's back in the Two Towers? That was rather obviously animated because he wasn't heven holding the strap.

All the other fellowship members are loaded down with packs while Legolas' hands swing free! This is not just incorrectly protraying him as inconsiderate and selfish, it's ridiculously unrealistic. I'm sure they wanted to emphasize the fact that he can walk on top of the snow, for goodness sake, are they that helpless? Animate some stuff on his back or something! Did anyone else notice this?
never actually noticed that.

Wow! I watched the scene of him jumping onto the horse over and over again, and I thought that it was flawless! I never noticed that, I'll have to go watch it.
As for animating something on his back, obviously it's not simple. But I know they could have done it judging by how incredible their other animations were. Oh, and I ought to go watch that again, too, and keep an eye on Aragorn this time; I love funny stuff like that.

Let me know if you see it. Apparently Orlando wanted to do it, but he had broken his rib recently (when Gimli's double fell off of the horse during the Warg battle scene, like he was supposed to, but apparently Orlando fell off as well or something to that effect. It's in the TTT appendecies). Allonde wrote: As for animating something on his back, obviously it's not simple. I know! The broken rib story cracked me up! What would we do without those appendices! Could you tell what Elijah was saying when he was mocking Orlando's accent? All I could catch was "can't ride the horse". Sooo funny, though!

Know what I noticed about that stunt? His arrows just miraculously stuck to the bottom of his quiver without moving. If I tried even tipping over slightly while wearing MY quiver, all the arrows would at least be sliding around. His didn't even move, and he was upside down!
So that was a bit stupid...

I think that's called centrifugal force. If you swing a bucket of water over your head a certain way it won't spill. Legolas is just good, that's all.

^The way he grabbed the strap is stull unrealistic.
@ Haldir: And did you notice how his feathers changed? In "The Breaking of the Fellowship" scene, they changed at least twice! They were reddish once, then yellowish green.

*Gasp* NO! That's dreadful!
Well, Orlando and John's stunt-double were riding during the scene for the Warg battle, and you know the scene where Gimli falls off of Arod? Well he somehow managed to accidentally grab Orlando with him, and Orlando fell and broke a rib. His John's stuntie got a broken knee cap, and the next day they were filming the running scene, LOL! And Viggo had already broken three toes on the orc helmet that he kicks when they think Merry and Pippin were slaughtered with the Orcs. So that scream you heard? That was pure, authentic physical pain, lol.

LOL it was pretty bad. PJ said that they gave him this really pained look after each scene and then he'd grimace and be like, "We have to do that one again, guys." And apparently they would give him this really sad look and then do it over again

Miliuiel: I'm sure you're right about him grabbing the strap...when I talked about centrifigal force I was applying that to why his arrows didn't spill out of the quiver.
