I know! GRRRR! Well, Canadians usually get everything later anyway, though don't ask me why. It's rather idiotic, actually. But I am positively DYING up here! And now that the snow has stayed, I need more indoor activities and my parents don't like the piratical element of POTC (which is basically the whole point of the movie, so I guess you might say they don't really like POTC, XD) and I've no money so I couldn't just buy it myself :(

normally those in Europe get it later too. :erm: I'm not sure why things have reversed this time... wow, your parents don't like the pirate-yness of it? I feel so bad for you, Millie! I guess the way I've always thought of it is that pirates are real to history so you can't avoid it and it's not like the movies ever show anything terrible like what some RL pirates did.... and PotC is about a little more than just pirates. ;)

anyway, I'm really sorry to hear that... and that makes me all the happier my parents approve of PotC and LotR when so many others I've heard about don't.

Oh my parents support LOTR 100%, my dad in particular.

I agree, pirates are a part of history, and POTC shows a very mild, romanticised version of piracy. Real piracy was much different, and not nearly as exciting most of the time. My parents just don't think it's a great movie. They think it's merely entertaining. :eyeroll: And it is, but they're just so down on it.

well, I sorta figured that... I was just saying that because one of my friend's parents doesn't like LotR.

aye, that's exactly it. PotC doesn't show the horrid parts of piracy at all. *gasp* how can you not think they're great movies!? they're some of the best Hollywood has ever turned out! :swoon: and it's so much more than entertaining (although it is that too ;)).... aww, well, I am really sorry to hear about that.

I feel really bad for you, bow! that's exactly what my mom did with DMC last year... and it was dreadful to have to wait it out. so I know exactly what you're goin' through.

My parents didn't like the violence at first, but you sort of become immunized to it after a while.

My aunt bought DMC for me, but it took three weeks to get here from BC *sniffles*.

aye, you do, I guess.

anyway, what I was wondering.... what are all the Pirate Lords lords of anyway? I was thinking about that the other day while I should've been doing geography. :P I figured there's the Caribbean and Caspian Seas (of course!), the Pacific Ocean, the South China Sea, the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, the Indian Ocean... but I couldn't think of the other two. any ideas?
