Cause nobody knew you were obsessed with Spyro or anything :P

I think an ice-breathing dragon is kinda cool, personally. A bit of a twist on the idea. Not sure how you'd do, like, an air or earth dragon or something, though.

Well, in the dragonology book(which is messed up... and I don't mean ripped or anything...) it says there are 9 kinds of dragons.

Wyvern(2 legs, wings)
European(4 legs, wings)
Lindworm(2 legs, no wings)
Knucker(4 legs, small wings)
Gargoille(4 legs, wings)
Frost(4 legs, wings)
Amphithere(no legs, wings)
Marsupial(4 legs, small wings)
Asian Lung(4 legs, no wings)

^Nice list- maybe I should memorize it.

I think different elemental dragons are kinda cool- it adds some variety. lol Fire-breathing dragons are still the coolest, IMHO, but ice-breathing is cool too... no pun intended.

I like the different element dragons. The Earth breath poison or something, while water breaths acid water. Or something of that sort. I had made up a list of 7 kinds of elemental dragons, each breathing a different kind of substance. Oh well.

I kinda agree with Ellie, actually. I am more favored to the fire breathing ones...and I LOVE Wyverns! :D

Wyverns = awesomeness. I like the kind with four legs and wings best, though. And fire breath = classic.

I like four legs and wings best, too. Big wings.

Eh... four legs, big wings, fire breather... the lovable classic. That would be European dragon. Or Draco occidentalis magnus as the scientific name goes...

Like THIS. That one's also green, which I think is another pretty much classic trait. I shall really have to buy Dragonology soon, now I'm itching to read it :P

Hmm, four legs, really big with big wings, any color. As for Elemental, I do love the traditional fire, but the ice dragons are awesome to.

Aye, four legs and large wings...dragons are so graceful and magestic yet powerful at the same time...it's brilliant.

If you where to describe a dragon in 3 words only to someone who doesn't like them (we must kill these people :teehee:) or simply to describe them, what words would you use?

Mine:
Graceful
Powerful
Majestic

Hmmm. It somewhat depends on where the dragons I'm talking about come from (they vary throughout literature, movies, etc) but a universal trait would probably be cleverness. Never seen a dragon who was unintelligent. Quite a few are even devious. The dangerous ones. Second word...intimidating :) Never seen a dragon who didn't make you go -whoa, hi, you're very large and scaly and please don't incinerate me- and third word...I suppose I would say most dragons have somewhat of a sense of humor. Recalling Smaug in The Hobbit. That is a bit along the lines of cleverness, though. So probably dangerous.

I'll go with...

Majestic
Dangerous
Strong

I would put potentially dangerous, but that's two words.

Meldawen, you brought up a really good point that I didn't even think of! There are a lot of different personailties of dragons; for example Smaug is funny when Samaranth is very wise and humble. Good point. I never would have thought of it.

There are so many different types of Dragons, the ones from Dungeons and Dragons and all of its affiliates (the reds, blues, balck, greens, whites, silvers, golds, bronzes, brasses, coppers, prismatic etc. etc. etc.) Then you have the ones from Tolkien(cold drakes, fire drakes, long worms, were worms). The ones from the Dragonology books(lung, western, ice, etc. etc. etc.) The Dragons from mythologies all around the world, and the Dragons that published writers all over the world have come up with.

Ones that breath fire, those that have acid breath, those that have no powers, and are merely scary. Dragon-fear, magic, ice breath, great winds, pseudodragons, drakes, fairy dragons, spirit dragons. Everything.

Personally, I think that coming up with three words to decribe them all is a pretty tough task.

What are some of your guys favorite Dragons?
Smaug is a for sure, he's wonderful. Temeraire is also lovely. The red and black Dragons from Dungeons and Dragons. There are so many to choose from...
