Oh man, that's a tough one.
Gleadr and Saphira from Eragon...
Smaug, Glarung, from LotR...
And soon I plan on reading the Harpers of Pern/Dragon riders of Pern... those books are crawling with dragons...

Personally, I've gotta put Thorn first. C'mon, he's red and almost evil.
As for other favorites, obviously Smaug. I also love Valdearg, from the Lost Years of Merlin tales. Then there are the childhood ones that you all might kill me about, being as they are less of true dragons and more....I dunno....personableish? Figment...*snort*
Three words...

i was going to put something, but it just escaped me...

Oh. I read the Dragonriders of Pern series up to "The White Dragon" a few years ago, and I found getting through them extremely tough. There was a lot of politics, and not a lot of the actual Dragons, which irked me. The first one was probably the best out of all the ones I read.

I rather like Temeraire myself. He's got so much personality. And if anybody's read Song in the Silence/The Lesser Kindred/Redeeming the Lost by Elizabeth Kerner, I like the dragons there. Oh, and LOVE the Pern books (particularly the Harper Hall trilogy). I really need to read those again.

Temeriare is amazing, he is definately one of the best Dragons I have ever read. Novik has this little thing that she does with her writing, that makes everything seem so real. Including all of the Dragon species that she has made up. I love the Longwings, and the Chinese Dragons...

My dad really wants me to read the Pern series'. He's also got books about the people in pern and maps and such... a friend gave them to him the other day. I haven't had a chance to really look at them yet, though.
I've also read in this one series that dragons speak every language known to beings both mortal and immortal.

Favorite dragon? Man, that's tough. I really like dragons in mythology. One of my favorite myths is Norse, about two brothers, and one turns into a dragon, then... well, I don't remember all the details at the moment, but I do like it. lol
Smaug is very cool, as is Glaurung. I did a report for school once about some of Tolkien's dragons- I had fun working on that one! I don't remember the exact spelling, but I liked Crysaphalyx Dives in Farmer Giles of Ham. He wasn't your typical dragon. lol

*innocence*
My only complaint with the Pern dragons is that they don't talk. If characters one made up are to be included, I like my character Merrin's dragon Wyvern. He isn't actually a wyvern, that's his name

Can I join? I don't know all that much about dragons yet, but I hope to soon. I'd like to be the "Rather Bookish Dragon who hassparkally sky-blue scales when she's happy and red one's when she's not" or something to that effect...

So I was contemplating a club banner (cause we have to have one) and I'm okay at graphics, but I was thinking I might make it a contest so we can vote for which one we like best. Anybody have thoughts? Or do you guys think I should just make one?
