Woah, interesting thoughts everyone. I agree with most of you, in that in a way he failed, but he didn't. After all, it was he who allowed Gollum to follow them, didn't kill him, and so on. Though he didn't physically throw the ring into Mt. Doom, it wouldn't have been destroyed without him. And since it was his mission to destroy the ring, he succeed. Also, in the books, Gandalf talks about how it took all of his power to have Bilbo let go of the ring, and he was still in Bag End 20 years earlier. So in a way, I think it would be impossible for anyone to carry the ring that far and then destroy it. It had to be someone else --Gollum.



And totally off that subject, have you guys visited the main site recently? Arweb found some amazing new pictures somewhere and they are awesome! There are these sweet ones of the hobbits and Frodo. That's all I've checked so far, but there are LOTS of new pictures.

She posted it on Fanfiction.net--they have a review function. I think the first two that reviewed were trying to help you improve, Revenge, tho maybe they could have been nicer. (They didn't strike me as all that impolite, but i know it can be very daunting to read construcive criticism. It's daunting to write, too, at least for me.) I was the third to review (under the username MinstrelofThelossea, which is my username on that site), and i tried to leave a good review, tho i didn't want to lie to you if i thought you could improve. So anyway, sorry if i contributed in any way to the offense, and good luck with your story! I agree, it would be fun to write a fic combining those two characters. (Which one would get to be Frodo's girl, tho? )
Btw, we're getting revved up for a Lij's-b-day celebration over in the Elijah/Frodo club in the Swoon Board (complete with a possible graphics contest!), so just thought i'd let you know.

The story idea sounds neat. It might be difficult to have Ruth Ann and Lilith each consider the other to be a myth if they're both well aquainted with Bilbo and Frodo. However, i think it could be believable as them just never having run into eachother at Bag End, and the Bagginses just not realizing it was necessary to inform the two lasses of eachother's existence. You know, since Bilbo and Frodo are both somewhat absent-minded types (and i mean that in a good way, you understand ). The scene in which Ruth Ann and Lilith meet eachother/are introduced by Bilbo and/or Frodo could be very hilarious, i think. So anyway, there's my two cents. (Btw, you're both welcome in the other club--we're preparing for Lij's b-day, as i've said. You don't have to go there if you don't want to, tho.)
