Not sure what you are speaking of with theme, but I was wondering if the first should be making a club banner because, it is really sad that a graphic one will not have one.

Brushes: I went through a brush phase, and I really loved them, I tend to put them on layers, and use them similar to textures, rather than brushes.

Textures: Amazing. I love textures. They add so much to icons. Whether it's colour, or decal type things, or whatever. Textures are the best.

Patterns: Never really used them, so I wouldn't know.

Fonts: Fun, I only have a few really good ones on GIMP, so they tend to get used a lot. And the swirly/scripty ones are the best. For most things, if the subject matter is really different, using block fonts are the best.

I think that's a good idea. Though, what would we put on it? As in, what kind of pictures?

Brushes:: I don't use them too much. Mainly because I never had them before, so I learned to get by. Some is fun though, like splotches or grungy stuff.

Textures:: Use them, don't use them, I don't mind much either way. Sometimes they really help and sometimes they're just too much.

Patterns:: Can be good --especially lines, paperish, and the like. But again, sometimes they're too much.

Fonts:: I LURVE fonts. I am a font junkie. Seriously. So I use them a lot --sometimes it doesn't work out so well. But I love small, large, swirly, blocky, and spaced fonts.

My main thing though, is gradients. I love using random colors and setting them on different layerings to get my "looks".

Hmm... still have to think what to put on it. I would think stuff relating to graphics programs.

Also, I am thinking about allowing classifieds here. Whereas, if someone needs more people for a contest, awards, etc. they can post "CLASSIFIED:yada yada yada" even if they are not an official member.

Brushes - I don't usually use them on banners, but I do a lot of LJ user pics where I sometimes use them and sometimes don't.

Textures - I just began to understand the idea recently when I finally figured out how to use the Layers function. But I do use them fairly often on banners--not so much on userpics/avvies.

Patterns - Uh, I haven't really figured out how to use these with GIMP, so not really.

Fonts - Fonts are definitely cool, but you have to chose the right one. I like a lot of script-y ones. I also try not to use the really popular fonts, like Muthulu (but it's so pretty!!). Just because I like to be different.
