AI: Artificial Intelligence. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting, but I thought it was still great!

"The Da Vinci Code" - Extended Edition. This movie is such a work of genius. The book is ten times better but the film is awesome nonetheless. The final 4 minutes is almost a religious experience with the Revelation of Langdon; his walk through Paris along the Roseline, the repeated verse being said out loud and the divine music of Hans Zimmer - I got so overwhelmed with emotion it brought tears to my eyes. Ahhh true movie magic!

Makes me glad I'm not part of organized religion. the da vinci code is not representative of organised religion by any stretch of the imagination, so it's hardly a basis for an educated opinion. While there is no way of knowing for sure the story about the bloodline and Mary Magdalene (though I fully believe it), there are many aspects of the Da Vinci Code that are historically true. Especially about all the [s]stolen[/s]...borrowed symbols, traditions and meanings from ancient Pagan religions. It's just a book. A thrill ride. Many people (including myself) who are fed up with organized religion enjoy what Dan Brown writes because he only confirms what many of us have already believed for years - centuries even! It's a book of stories written by man, yes. But so is the bible! I'm all for debating these kind of issues so if anybody wants to flame me through PMs, go for it! I saw that one a few weeks ago on TV. It was excellent

Couldn't have said it better myself. And I always get choked up on the last few minutes. Especially when Robert kneels, that part gets me every single time. And the "'neath starry skies" line, it send shivers down my spine.

Ah yes same here and also when the camera flies down through the pyramid revealing the sarcophagus - I get shivers, chills and goosebumps like there's no tomorrow The music of Hans Zimmer is so unbelievably breathtaking and majestic!

^Hah, re-watching the ending, I remembered exactly how much I didn't like that movie. Tom Hanks was a terrible casting choice and it just all-around failed to live up to my expectations. I was so excited too, since it's one of my favorite books. *Shrugs*

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and At World's End. Boy, it's fun watching these with people who've never seen them before. Especially explaining the Dutchman's curse, and putting up with the ranting of a guy friend who really doesn't like Elizabeth in AWE.

^^Why does that sound really familiar?
"Northanger Abbey". Again. For the third time. I couldn't resist. It's just too good to ignore. Hurrah for Jane Austen! And gorgeous British men.
