The books are called childish by alot of people, but thats nonsense. Bloody awesome they are :P Every few month I sift through the books... I never seem to get bored.

Go, go, go Puddleglum! Hes a funny chap that one... And thanks for that link Arweb dearie ^^ Reepacheep is indeed very cute.

But thats really groovy. Im actually really really looking forward to the movie, which is saying alot. I would have rather that they had cast the voice of Aslan as someone completely random and added to the magic, but thats life I suppose. However if there will be a Dawn Treader movie... THAT should be interesting!

I love Liam Neeson (er, is that his name?) as Aslan- I've sworn never to see him in anything else so he can stay Aslan for me. :P There's definitely something to be said for an unknown, Sairahiriel.

Reepicheep..that reminds me, when my brother and I were little, we were always playing mousey games with my friends. I was usually Mousike Squeakalo (long story) or someone else like Lady Amber from Redwall, but my brother (Radagast here) was always Reepicheep. In fact, when we went to see the first Narnia movie, that's who he dressed as. Hum.

Really? a lot of people call the books childish? Hmmm, well, I suppose I can see what they mean because they WERE written for kids… but that doesn’t mean they’re ONLY for kids. :eyeroll: I mean, they are so sweet! I’m really happy a few of you guys here motivated me to finally dig into them… I’m loving them!

But at the same time some unknown actors aren’t that great yet, you know… so you sort of gamble if you get someone unknown. Although they did do it with LotR and Narnia and both turned out fantastic! hmmm, for me Aslan is fine… he’s his own charrie, I don’t even identify him with Liam. Actually I thought Liam with that rich kind of lion-y voice was a good fit... :erm: (he seems to be something you'd expect for Aslan, IMO)

Awww, those are sweet stories! :teehee: I don’t have any Narnia memories from when I was little… other than the time my mom read LWW to me and my brother. No, most of my childhood was spent playing LotR or other tv shows. :P

o.O I had a very Calvin and Hobbes childhood as an only child. I had a lot of adventures, lots of exploring and a hugely vast imagination. Then my cousins came to live with us and it was great. I was the oldest (-coughs- bossy -coughs- xD) and I was always scheming and such.

Once I remember I managed to get them to sneak out to the playground with me and there we reenacted the Voyage of the Dawn Treader down to the last detail. Those were the days... :P

I love Liam Neeson so much! He was in Star Wars Episode I, actually, but I love him even more as Aslan's voice. He's just perfect.
Plus he plays Jean Valjean in LM, even though I haven't seen it (need to!) I'm sure he's wonderful...I love that character. :D

[/Liam rant]

Hmm...when I was little my sister and I would play make-believe, but it was of a much more boring sort. We would play "House", we would play "The Parent Trap" (after the Lindsay Lohan movie came out) and when we were with our friends we would play murder mystery, solving crimes as we role-played along. That was very fun and creative! We stayed away from fantasy, usually, though. I don't know why. :( I guess I didn't really begin to love fantasy (read: LotR) until I was middle-school aged.

:P Fantasy was my life. Thats the really nice thing about being an only child I reckon - is the fact that you can really let your crazy imagination do whatever, because its just you and your world ^_^

I was always a fantasy person :) I actually started out with fantasy.... I remember being about 5-6 years old and every night one of my parents would tell me the hobbit. Every night it was just a little piece, so that way it lasted longer and I always looked forward to bedtime :P How I miss being little!

Well, actually, Nikabrik and the hag and werewolf were attempting to bring the White Witch back. Right before Peter and Edmund and Trumpkin and Trufflehunter all rush in to Aslan's How. So I'm pretty sure that's what they're showing in the trailer, just modified a bit.

Aw, I would love getting read the Hobbit before bed. That never happened to me, but I love fantasy too. It's the best thing ever, I think. ANYTHING can happen.

Awesome memory bubs! But I really hope that they stick to story line. I really REALLY dont like deviations >.<

Hence the fantasy  Its the magic of surprise and the fact that anything can happen. I'm slowly realizing how much I misses my childhood telling all these stories here.

And thanks you SO SO SO much for the sig set Nurr dear. I WUVS it!

Ooh, fun! I was a Disney kid...I ran around pretending I was Simba or Jasmine or something like that. Usually one of the animals though. :P

I wonder if they're going to include Reep's indignity at being treated as a small person? :teehee:

I don't know why they wouldn't, that's who Reepicheep is! :D

We were such Calvin and Hobbes kids, too- in fact, I can remember attempting to play Calvinball. :P

I actually don't mind deviations too much, as long as they work with the characters and the plot. I'm flexible that way. Like, I never minded PJ changing up stuff with Arwen or Faramir at all.

Hehe...childhood. I'm the oldest of five, but I always wanted to play by myself. I remember we used to have an hour in the afternoon where we'd all go to our rooms and do something quiet so that my mom could get stuff done, and I'd invent these complicated fantasies with my stuffed animals. Even then, I could entertain myself by just sitting and thinking. Hehe. It's funny to remember.

Yeah, I'm intrigued by that trailer bit. But like I said, I won't mind if they switch the story up too terribly much, in that respect.

^ Me and Switching things just dont get along. We have tried! Believe me. I even baked cookies for it once and still. -sighs-

Haha :P Yes childhood is a wonderful, wonderful thing that slips away much too fast. And then there are all the little details that one stores so carefully and then forgets until much much later. The human mind is an amazing thing. Just like fried ice-cream.

ahhh, that's what I was wondering... I was wondering if they were maybe explaining it or showing it more than it is in the book or something... for added excitement in the trailer. nice! :-D

Oh, I know, Anie! I've seen that poster too! I LOVE it! :bounce:  and I've noticed there are several lucky people around the forum who have it made into a banner! (Nurr is one of those people ;)).... I adore that new poster though! whee!
