I know what you mean about X3. It's my fave of the three, though it probably shouldn't be. But I just adore it.
Last movie I watched was Snakes on a Plane.
Absolutely ludicrous and absurd..but just so good. Samuel L. Jackson is just awesome cubed.

dear wendy. timx4 talking about it gave me an urge to watch it again. it's such an awesome film - wonderfully multi-faceted, thought-provoking rather than didactic, tragic but not over-sentimental, honest (even if a tad surreal), quirky, inventive, well-written and superbly acted, with a fantastic soundtrack and three-dimensional characters...all the things i like best in a film. the entire cast is outstanding, but for me it's jamie bell that really shines in perhaps his best role to date. i can't even begin to describe how talented that guy this.

I ♥ that film, 'tis my favourite Pixar movie.  Exactly what happens.  It is a wonderful movie. Quote: The Fugitive - "My, my, my what a mess". As soon as Tommy Lee Jones appears and says that, you know exactly what kind of character he is. Uber cool. And the fact he wears a smart shirt and tie but always wear jeans. I've always had a "thing" for Tommy Lee Jones. For once the Academy got it right and gave an Oscar to the right guy. And I love his little motely group of U.S Marshalls, they are just fun. And of course Harrison Ford was really, really good in this. I felt so sorry for him, and I loved it when Sam Gerard told him he knew he was innocent of the crime of killing his wife and that it was "all over".

Vantage Point
To be honest, I rather liked it but I felt it was a bit too short. Interesting plot and the acting was rather good. I liked Ayelet Zurer in it. She did a good job as a terrorist.

The Golden Compass
I wasn't even planning on seeing this, but it was the only movie playing at the local theater, so I took a friend. It was pretty good, although it was a bit boring at times.

@ TT - Yay someone else who likes the Fugitive! I thought I was the only one.
Here Comes Mr. Jordan - Huzzah! A 1940's film I hath not seen! It was a bit..meh.. to begin with, then it got a lot better and I was enjoying it, but then it went..meh.. again. It was a good idea for a story - guy dies before his time, so the people up there have to take him back to earth, only to find his friends have cremated his body, so he needs to find someone else's - but it got a bit too complicated and the ending was disappointing. Claude Rains was excellent as always. He can do no wrong in my eyes. 
The Cat People - I'm sure this should be better than it actually was. It gets top marks for creepyness and atmospheric...er..atmosphere but there should be more to like than how much fake fog they used. Simone Simon was sooo annoying...her accent was terribly hard to understand. The rest of the cast were so wooden I was expecting to see woodworm pop out at any moment. The best actor was the panther, definitely.
The Curse of the Cat People - Strange title for what was a happy film. Better than the prequel but with hardly anything to do with the Cat People, I'm not sure what the point of it was. Oh, yes my favourite actress with the dodgy accent was back.
Farwell My Lovely - Ooh, I really enjoyed this. I have seen it before but not for a while. It was sharp and snappy, and although I don't recall what else I have seen Dick Powell in, he was really excellent as Philip Marlowe. I love film noirs anyway, but this has shot right near the top of my favourites. I think it had a lot more humour than other film noirs and I liked the romance between the two leads, which is always a bonus.
Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World - I ♥ this film. I'm currently reading all the Hornblower novels, so that's why I decided to watch M&C. I had forgotten what a technically good film it was, and how well it showed what life was really like on a British ship during the Napoleonic wars. This is probably the only thing I have seen that really gives an accurate look at the lives of the men aboard a British ship in war time. Russell Crowe was way better in this than Gladiator (yeah, I'm the only one who thinks this) although sometimes the accent annoyed me slightly - he was trying too hard to be a Hugh Grant-esque Englishmen. Paul Bettany excellent and sexy at the same time. Their friendship is what made the film so uniquley different, and I'm sorry they're not going to make another film.  It did also help me to understand some of the phrases of seamanship..although reading a book about a different crew during the war and watching a film about another is extremely confusing....  .... I did get the storylines sort of messed up at one point...

I just saw PotC: AWE again.
Barbossa is still the wonderfulness. I can't help fangirling him with ridiculous ardor. That maniacal laugh... 
And I'm halfway through The Matrix (the first one)... Just bought it on DVD, still love it as much as I did the first time I saw it. _________________ <center>
