I'm sorry, how do we know Jack is Aaron's uncle? I don't ever remember that.

Neither do I. Must have been an episode I missed.....

But you make a good point, Rin, about Aaron calling Kate "mommy". If he doesn't know Claire is his mother and Charlie practically a father, I'll be really mad. :annoyed:

We found out like in season 2 I think. Claire's father is Jack's dad. I can't really remember the episode, but it was a big deal. :P Claire nor Jack know that they're related.

Maybe they find out, maybe they don't.

And as for Aaron calling Kate "mommy," well considering he's just a wee baby on the island, he might not KNOW who his real mom is. But, we've know idea what happens to Claire...so I'm not jumping to any conclusions about why he called Kate "mommy."
He WOULDN'T know Charlie, as Charlie....I can't say it.....when he was just a wee baby. But then that brings up Charlie's ring and if Claire ever finds it...yada yada yada.

So, a lot is up in the air right now. Can't jump to too many conclusions. As, this IS Lost after all. ;)

I just really want to know why Jack is STILL emo over Kate, and why he doesn't want to see Aaron.

As for the ping pong game, I think that it might've just stuck. Or maybe the bet was for Sawyer to for the rest of the time call Hurley "Hugo." I can't really remember. But I just remember thinking that was awesome that Sawyer got PWNED in ping pong. :)

@FM: Yessss....I've grown a bit partial to Daniel. :P I just adore adorable geeks. Which is why I'm nervous he might turn out to be UBER evil. Hopefully not. I wouldn't like that at all.

I know Aaron wouldn't remember Charlie, it just goes along with telling him who he really is I think....

The ping pong game, if I remember correctly b/c I do remember this episode...vaguely ^^, Sawyer nicknames for Hurley always commented on his weight, and Hurley chalenged him to the game. If he won, Sawyer wouldn't call him anymore nicknames. I was finally useful! :-D

That was the best episode so far this season I think.
And I think you said it best, MB.

I'm liking Daniel more and more I think, though I'm not quite sure what to make of him...

And Desmond has totally broken any ties and has become my favorite character.

You know, Desmond has been kind of hit and miss with me, because he rarely had any screen time, and the parts he did have weren't really of any importance (save for telling Charlie he was going to die, and at that point Desmond wasn't really my main concern).

Anyway, now I'm definitely a fan of him. Plus he has a gorrrrrrgeous accent. :D

Penny and Desmond are so cute! I'm totally jonesing for more of that action.

Well, I've been a fan of Desmond and a shipper of Penny/Desmond since we first ever met him. :P

I dunno, there's just something about him that I really find fascinating. I mean, yes he's gorgeous and SOOOO lovely to look at. And then his accent is TO DIE FOR! :P
But just something about his character that is SOO lovable. *SQUEEEEEEEEE*

It is really sad that he hasn't had much screen time. And as much as I loved all his screen time last season, it's not screen time that I think back on with happy thoughts. ;) As Tar said, HE wasn't my main concern. :P

But, I love that he loved Charlie so much. :) I mean, Des, Hurley, Charlie and Jin were like the bestest bunch EVER! Dude, the 4 coolest guys on the island! HELLOOO!!!! Okay...so maybe Sayid wasn't in their group that much...but at least Sayid hangs out with Des. :P

Anyway, I'm still trying to wrap my head around that episode. It was so confusing, and then it made sense, and then in perfect Lost tradition, it takes all that you think you've figured out and turns it topsy-turvy just at the end! BAH! :P

Phh, a friend of mine has this theory that the island is like this hole in the space-time continuum, and I pretty much laughed myself to death when he said that, but when Daniel was like "well, it's possible that time is different" (in not so many words), my jaw kind of dropped and I was "NO. WAY." And then it was kind of explained...I'm going to have to /wrists if my friend is right. Haha. :D

Maybe they find out, maybe they don't.

I have a feeling that they will find out. The writers threw that fact in for a reason. Jack may find out that he's related to Claire, and thus Aaron, sometime between the present and the flashforwards. I'm wondering how he'll find out. I mean, Ben and Juliet most likely know, since they have detailed files on every one of the survivors, but why Juliet hasn't told Jack yet confuses me.

Desmond's episode a couple nights ago was hands-down amazing. All the time-space shifting stuff never fails to amaze me. :)

I'm really confused about Aaron though. He's about two in the flashforwards, and in present time, he's 3 months. So then it looks like there's a 2 year time difference between the present and Kate's flashforward. But how could it be that long? I'm assuming that Kate's trial took place soon after they returned from the island. But how can Kate explain having a 2 year old? She only spent 3 months or so on the island, so she can't have had a 2 year old, let alone a baby infant at all. So I'm guessing that it actually might have to do with what Tar-Dis's friend said about a space-time continuum. Or something similar. Or there may be something I'm missing, most likely.

Don't forget that there was a 31-minute time-difference thingy in the third episode, where Daniel received some kind of rocket (I forgot what) from the freighter, and it was 31 minutes late. I've heard speculation that there's a 31-time difference, and that for every minute that passes on the island, 31 minutes pass in real time.

The theory about a hold in the space-time continuum (and parallel universes, alternate dimensions) isn't that outrageous of a theory, actually, when you look at some of the episodes, especially this week's Desmond's episode. I mean, it would explain a lot of the mysteries.

BAH! All of Lost confuses me, pretty much! :) That's why I love the show. :bye2:

*peeps in*

The highlight of my AU year was to have been the return of LOST. Some of my fondest memories are of me spending a happy hour here, getting all the latest info from the lucky people that got to see it weeks before me. I read one episode re-cap and decided that wouldn't really work this year - the story is just so  I really need to see it for myself.

I now have the first 3 episodes in my posession - I hope I'm not too far behind everyone else that I can talk about it with the orignal AU Losties, and the new people I see around here, when I watch them this week.

It's been maddening seeing this thread so active and not being a part of it. :-(

Well, that's not necessarily true. Trials may take years to make it to court, because of the crazy US courts systems... so it is possible that flashforward was that far ahead in the future...

Ok, well these are my thoughts on The Beginning of the End -

HURLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*squiggle hugs the big guy*

I am officially depressed now. Not only does he have to contend with the loss of Charlie, but we now know in the future he's back in the mental institute and he's not the happy Hurley I like to see. That makes me sad. :-(

I seriously don't know what to make of that epsiode. The first 20 minutes or so were just.... meh... but once Desmond arrived and everyone knew about Charlie it got better. I LOVED the scene between Hurley and Sawyer, when Sawyer is trying to be nice to him, but Hurley wasn't having any of it - I liked how the characters were reversed.

And Ben!! *SQUEE* He had some great lines, I love his dry sarcasm.... man, he just goes out his way to get beaten up doesn't he?

But I'm not sure I like the flashforward thing really, I think it will either work so well we'll be congratulatin the writers from here till Christmas, or we'll be wondering how the heck they ever thought it would work.

Some questions:

- How come the guy in the mental institute could see Charlie?
- Why does Charlie look like you'd expect, if he had survived, got off the island and had a bigger career than ever? Why does he not look like how he did when died?
- What happened to Hurley's fortune? If he had it, why is he not in a better place?
- Who is the "they" that Charlie says needs Hurley's help?
- Why can Hurley seemingly make things disappear when he counts to 5? [the reaction from Charlie when he tried to make him disappear was as if he knew once Hurley started the countdown he *had* to go]
- Who does Michael (who went to see Hurley) really work for, and who is the "them" he mentions?
- Why are there only 6 survivors? What happened to the rest?
- Why did Hurley lie about Ana Lucia? Does the world think that there were only 6 people who survived the crash and what actually happened has never been revealed?
- Was it Christian Shepperd in Jacob's cabin?

You know, it's a weird thing that orignally there were theories that because in somw way, all of these guys were connected, that's why they were on the plane in the first place and why it crashed and everything.... but even now there are weird coinsidences... like the policeman who interviwed Hurley was Ana Lucia's partner. It never end.

And as for who was in the coffin in the last episode of series 3 - that coffin would never have housed Hurley. :P And besides, were looking at a character that people couldn't forgive so that's why no-one turned up.... but we now know only 6 "survived" so maybe that's why there were no mourners. I reckon it's Locke personally.

Just dropping into say...

LOST is amazing.

I'm not in season 4 yet so now I must depart from this topic.

^ I agree... it is also amazingly annoying and if it were not for a certain character, I would have given up in series 2 when it was becoming a bit...droopy... :P .. having Henry Gale in series 2 was the kick start it needed for me, and I've never looked back since. :D

Aye, I know how you feel, but at least I have the first 4 epsiodes within my grasp now.

@Elberethsq: Well, they'll definately find out. I think its just one of those things that won't be kept secret. As for Juliet not telling them, I actually doubt that she even knows.

I have a feeling knows, but that's because he knows EVERYTHING. :P And Ben is well ... Ben. He doesn't tell everyone everything.

So whether or not and HOW Jack and Claire find out will be fascinating.

As for Aaron's age...WELL. Since this past episode and the whole...space/time warp thingy whatever...I have a sneaky suspicion THAT is gonna have an enormous effect on Aaron's age. Maybe, maybe not.

GAH! I know not! This is Lost, and as much as I try to wrap my head around all the ideas put forth, and form some theories of my own...I can't. Why? Because it's Lost. And if you think you've figured out something, you can be damned sure that you'll either be wrong, way off, or just really confused. :P

@JF: AHHHHHHHHH!!!! Teh JF has seen the first episode of the new season!!

Exciting and confusing and depressing is it not?

Yes, Ben is just AWESOME this season. You don't even know. :P

As for the other questions, while I cannot answer them...neither has the show so far. :P But it's Lost. And things kind of start to make a little sense the more episodes in. See, since the season premeire, things kind of in a vague general way sort of make sense. WOW. That was real specific. ;)

As for the "Oceanic 6"...you'll find out, dearie. ;)

And YAY! for Hurley love! AWWWWWW!!!! That poor guy, I've been wanting to give him a hug since Libby died. :P GAH!!!

Hurley = LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE. :)
