Hmm good question smeag...
I'd say I prefer making graphics of things I like most. So most of the time, that's movies and TV, bands I like and so on. I don't not like making graphics from stock images, I just prefer making them from screencaps and stuff

Movies for sure. Their easier because I can screencap which scenes I like, rather than hunting around for stock, or screencaps from t.v. shows.

I am guessing that I am totally different then, I definetly perfer stock images. Just the fact that I am making it more off of an idea is really thrilling and motivating for me.

I have to say that I love making stuff from movies/tv/etc, but lately I've really gotten into photography, and that's led me into stock. I really like getting stock put to song lyrics. My new favorite thing. I've got some John Denver stuff made from stock, and I'm working on others. Though movies are definitely my first love...there's just something about knowing the characters and making them come across in pictures.

Stock images, definitely.
I don't have as much to search through to find them.
Plus it's more fun to work with a picture you "know."

of course, I've never tried making graphics out of stock images... so i'm biased. Anyone want to give me some links for stock images that I can try out? They sound fun now that some of you prefer them over movies/t.v. etc. graphics.

What I like about stock images is that it is a very wide range of abilities with the graphics, and it is easier to make graphics that are based off of ideas and feelings.

Manipulations... sweet. I, usually, am not the biggest fan of only manipulating photos, but that looks so cool!

You are all soooo lucky! I have microsoft paint, which is 7 years old... It's sorta stinks, and I am thinking of getting photoshop, but I don't know...
Anyways:
Oooh! Those are great, much better then my graphics... well, that's because I really don't have graphic's to "make". Well, a good graphic maker, anyways.
