The Court Jester - I had forgotten how much I loved this film. Danny Kaye is a pure genuis, he plays characters that no-body else on the planet could play and the way he can sing songs or lines that if spoken by anybody else would fall flat, he makes witty and ridiculously funny at the same time. His comic timing is perfection and how on earth he delivers tongue twisters with so much ease, I'll never know.

King: I must say I was shocked to hear about the Duchess. What did the Duke do?
Hawkins: Pardon?
King: The Duke. What did the Duke do?
Hawkins: The Duke do?
King: Yes, and what about the Doge?
Hawkins: The Doge?
King: Well what did the Doge do?
Hawkins: The Doge do?
King: Yes, the Doge do?
Hawkins: Well the Doge did what a Doge does when the Doge does his duty to the Duke that is
King: What? What's that?
Hawkins: Well it's very simple sire. When the Doge did his duty and the Duke didn't, that's when the Duchess did the dirt to the Duke with the Doge
King: Who did what to what?
Hawkins: They all did sire. There they were in the dark - the Duke with his dagger, the Doge with his dart and the Duchess with her dirk
King: The Duchess with her dirk?
Hawkins: Yes, the Duchess dug at the Duke just when the Duke dove at the Doge. Now, the Duke ducked the Dodge dodged and the Duchess didn't. So the Duke got the Duchess, the Duchess got the Doge and the Doge got the Duke
King: Curious, I..I..I all I heard was the Duchess had a siege of rheumatism

Witch: I have put a pellet of poison in one of the vessels
Hawkins: Which one?
Witch: The one with a figure of a pestle
Hawkins: The vessel with the pestle
Witch: But you don't want the vessel with the pestle, you want the chalice from the palace
Hawkins: I don't want the vessel with the pestle, I want the chalice from the what?
Witch: The chalice from the palace. It's a little crystal chalice with the figure of a palace
Hawkins: Does the chalice from the palace have the pellet with the poison?
Witch: No the pellet with the poison is in the vessel with the pestle
Hawkins: The pestle with the vessel
Witch: No, the vessel with the pestle
Hawkins: What about the palace from the chalice?
Witch: Not the palace from the chalice, the chalice from the palace
Hawkins: Where's the pellet with the poison?
Witch: In the vessel with the pestle. The pellet with the poison is in the vessel with the pestle, the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true
Hawkins: The pellet with the poison is in the vessel with the pestle, the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true
Witch: Just remember that

.......

Hawkins: I've got it! The pellet with the poison is in the vessel with the pestle, the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true. Right?
Witch: Right, but there's been a change. They broke the chalice from the palace
Hawkins: They.. they broke the chalice from the palace?
Witch: And replaced it with a flagon
Hawkins: A flagon?
Witch: With the figure of a dragon
Hawkins: A flagon with a dragon
Witch: Right
Hawkins: But did you put the pellet with the poison in the vessel with the pestle?
Witch: No, the pellet with the poison is in the flagon with the dragon, the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true
Hawkins: The pellet with the poison is in the flagon with the dragon, the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true
Witch: Just remember that

And I am so sad I copied that all out by hand. (which is now dead by the way) :P

And I watched Enchanted last night. What a lovely movie, I adored it. It's been way too long since they've made a happy, fairy-taleish musical like that... :teehee: And Prince Edward was amazing... probably my favorite person in the whole movie...

The scene where she has all the animals clean his house. *dies quietly* That was hysterical.

All and all, Disney - way to go! Good work on producing a new idea without mooching off of notorious authors!

When I saw that film at the cinema me and my two friends I went with were in hysterics all the way through it... It just makes me laugh so much!

40 Year-old Virgin. Haha, the most inappropriate movie I've ever seen, but it makes me laugh like no tommorrow.

sunday - a drama about the events of bloody sunday (30th january 1972), when british paratroopers shot dead thirteen unarmed civilians in derry, northern ireland. i can't say everything i feel after watching this because of forum rules about political discussion, but i will say that i feel truly ashamed of the british government and british army. the way they acted was just disgusting. i will also say that i thought it was an excellent piece of film making - the performances were astonishing and absolutely heart-wrenching.

Send Me No Flowers - I think this is the best Rock Hudson/Doris Day film probably because I can perfectly sympathise with Rock Hudson's hypochondriac.
