Oh. My. Gawd.
"Adrift" has completely melted me. *That* scene.
And... that's Ianto *on top* of Jack in the trailer for 2x12... [/dead]

Oh yeah, that episode looks really gripping. I liked Adrift, a fair bit. That howl nearly made me insane...kind of scary how that happened.

Yeah, I had to turn down the volume when he started howling. That was sad. And I have to say, Gwen made some rather poor decisions in that episode.

Spoilers!
"Adrift" was amazing. The Janto scene pretty much MADE MY LIFE. I'll leave out my more graphic/obsessive analyses of this scene to save your minds.
I really guessed from Jack's initial reaction to Gwen's proposal that not only was Jonah alive, but he was also seriously *beep* up in some way. That level of insanity though... was completely unexpected. The scene where he had his "downshift" was, in my opinion, one of the few truly frightening scenes Torchwood has had. That bloodcurdling scream was ringing in my ears for about fifteen minutes after the end credits rolled. Ugh. The more I think about it, the more I gets under my skin. A twenty hour scream each day? I don't even want to imagine what it was he saw.
Oh, and poor Gwen at the end. She's just standing there and suddenly it's like she's practically collapsing in on herself. Such absolute defeat must be heartbreaking.

A quick rundown of how I've liked the most recent episodes I've seen ("Adam", "Reset", "Dead Man Walking", and "A Day In The Death"):
1. Adam- Definitely one of my favorite episodes so far, despite the fact that it was an emotional rollercoaster. It was well-written, dramatic, and poignant. I especially loved the roundtable scene when Jack was preparing the team to take the amnesia pill. It really showed how much he cares for, and dare I say, loves the others. It also gave a great overview of what Jack functions as in his role as boss- he's mentor, father, friend, brother, teacher, comforter, protector, and potential savior for all the members of his team, basically the perfect leader, or at least as close to a perfect one as a mere man can be. As for Adam, except for what he did to Gwen, Ianto, and a lesser extent, Jack, he wasn't what I'd call evil. I saw him more as a lonely, frightened creature who just wanted to experience life and companionship. After he was sucked back into the void, I found myself thinking it was a shame his intrusion into everyone's memories altered them so damagingly that he just couldn't be allowed to live .
2. Reset- Not the most memorable episode (except of course Owen dying ), but a good one nonetheless. I wasn't sure how I'd like Martha popping in, but the scenes between her and Owen were just too great to warrant any complaint about her . I could actually see her as a potential addition to the team . One of my favorite scenes in this episode had to have been when Owen was attempting to show Martha how the "Extractor Ray" (can't think of any other way to describe it ) worked. Jack's lines (i.e. his "This is going to end in tears" aside to Martha) and Ianto's reactions (the look he gave Owen after nearly being beaned by flying debris was just , OMG!) were an absolute hoot ! I think, like "Meat", this was more of a "message"/"issue" episode than anything else- the former, of course, was meant to spark discussion about consumption of animals for food, and the aim of this one was to get viewers to think about (1) animal experimentation for scientific purposes, and (2) use and marketing of genetically modified organisms.
3. Dead Man Walking- Extremely creepy, but very good episode. Another favorite of mine.
The things I liked most, in no particular order:
- Loved to see a sweeter, less arrogant, jerky side of Owen.
- The scene between Jack and Owen in the prison cell. It was funny and sort of touching at the same time. It showed, too, that the relationship between the two is very much a father-son one.
- Ianto's "weight watchers" line, of course ;D. Gotta love those one-liners of his, LOL!
- All the "goodbye" moments between Owen and the others.
- The scene of the attacking Resurrection Glove. Great homage to The Addams Family there ! I know it was probably supposed to be freaky, but I actually found it rather amusing (except of course when it grabbed Martha's face . I did like the nod that gave to the "Alien" films with Sigourney Weaver, though )
Before seeing this, I had a mostly neutral view of Owen (I didn't like or dislike him), but now, I'm really growing to like him .
4. A Day In The Death- I liked this one because we really got insight into the sort of person Owen is. It was also interesting to see how he interacts with the others. We didn't get a lot of him with Gwen, of course, but his interactions with Tosh, Jack, and Ianto were plenty interesting, particularly the one between him and Ianto, because we haven't seen much of that so far.

Oh my god! Fragments. Was. Awesome. *lets out a stream of colourful words to describe his excitement of that*
MAJOR SPOILER ALERT
I just loved the idea of this episode. I really can't work out whose story was my favourite. They were all so very interesting in their ways. But because he's my favourite character, I'm going to have to say I really liked Owen's story. It really showed you why he became such a cynical person. Ianto's and Tosh's were also great. (It does show you why her mother appeared to her in End of Days) And Jack's was just gah! Wonderful. I thought I saw a picture of the Doctor in that story, but I think I'm wrong. It was still just great. A lot better than how Gwen got recruited.
And I really can't wait until the finale. It looks a lot more intense than End of Days.

Perfectly summed up. Fragments has to be my favourite episode so far and reminded me a little of the Firefly episode Out of Gas.
I  Flashbacks.
...and next episode
I can't believe it's coming to the end...13 episodes is just poor.
WE NEEDS MOAR PLZKTHX!

So I read Coccinelle's post and of course I had to check out the trailer.
OMG. Okay, not only is Ianto on top of Jack, but there's a scene where Jack is soaking wet and Ianto gets tossed into a big pile of garbage and takes a tumble. And then Owen's "Oh snap" I can't wait.
Oh, and I saw the trailer for Somthing Borrowed and almost had to change my pants. The scene where "Jack" turns into "Scary!Jack" was so terrifying! There were just a lot of little clips of his growing teeth and jumping at you. It was as bad as the weeping angels from Doctor Who.
I saw Day in Death. By my standards, it was alright. Nothing monumental. I did like the shirt they gave Owen though. "The guy only had the dog....." Oh Owen, I love you.

I second you Phoenix. MOAR!!!!
It's rather unfortunate. These past two episodes have turned me into a big pile of mushy fangirly goo... No, change that, this whole season has turned me into a pile of mushy fangirly goo. Guh.

I saw Somthing Borrowed. Fortunately, the actuall show wasn't nearly as frightening as the trailer. It was actually a bit comical. I loved the part
Shop emloyee: Can I help you sir?
Ianto: Yes, I'm looking for a dress for a friend
Shop employee: You know, you'd be surprised how many times we help guys who are "shopping for a friend
And the Ianto/Jack dance. It was funny, seeing Gwen think Ianto wanted to dance with her. But Grrrrrrrr! I hate my TiVo thing. It never records the last three minutes of the show, so I'm left wondering what will happen. Rawr.

^That was brilliant. Screw Gwen, all we want is the Janto.
All of this screaming of "MOAR" makes me feel like I'm on 4chan or something...
I would just like to say that I am completely in love with Blue Gillespie, Gareth David-Lloyd's band. He has an unbelievably sexy voice...
ANYWAY. Spoilers for "Fragments," which is undoubtedly one of my favorite episodes ever.
Jack: "I always thought electrodes to the nipples meant the start of a good night"
I'm glad we finally got to see (some of) how Jack got into Torchwood. I was really hoping he'd just beat those annoying women to death with something hard, but no such luck. Though seeing some of the other Torchwood members, even if dead and/or annoyingly Victorian was fascinating.
Tosh: Wow. This one was insanely depressing. The thought of being looked up in solitary confinement for the rest of my life for no good reason has always terrified me. And then Jack is like "Hey, wanna get out of here?" like he's taking her on a lunch date or something. *Shakes head*
Ianto: I did llike it and it was pretty hilarious, but in contrast to the dark, heavier stuff of the rest of the episode it just felt like fluff. Ah well, Ianto is hot and that's all that really matters, isn't it?
Owen: Having lost family members to the slow decay of Alzheimer's, I really identified with Owen here. Of course, when it turned out that it was really a brain-eating alien... me= The fact that is was just kind of lazily waving its tentacles from inside her head was slightly unnerving. At least he has justification for being a cynical (yet lovable) jackass now, for reasons other than his being dead.

If anyone's interested, I found a site with Torchwood incidental music.
http://www.freewebs.com/dwmidi/torchwood.htm
It has some of the basic themes, like the Torchwood theme song and the such. But what I really like about it is that they have Owen's theme song (the song played when he was battling death in Dead Man Walking and when he did his entire "do you know what happens when a bullet kills someone..." speech.) Oh it also has Doctor Who music, Sarah Jane Adventures (for those who watch that) music, and some of the Doctor Who classic music.

Okay, I haven't seen Fragments yet...because it hasn't played here yet, but besides that, I'm totally up to date on Torchwood episodes!!
So I totally want in on this. And of course, Ianto is my very favorite, he's brilliant (I seem to be picking up on some Ianto love here, I think).
However, I love Owen too. He's such a jerk, it's amazing. I loved Dead Man Walking so much, and actually, I loved Adam too, because Owen was so nerdy and awkward!
