MB, *high fives* haha, great to hear that! :P Every time it's on I at least have to watch a little bit of it... and it's gonna be on tomorrow too. :P I've also heard that USA will be getting DMC later this year! Huzzah!

Yes, yes, all of it is amazing. :P I'm in full agreement with you.

MB, ditto that! :-D USA is a great network... of course anyone is when it plays Pirates. ;) that's what my brother has heard on KTTC and they're pretty dependable when it comes to PotC things. So, yes, supposedly USA has bought the rights to play it. then they will probably play both back-to-back and it won't be long til they get AWE! *squee* :P Pirates lives on!!! :pirate:

Saw "Les Misérables" again for the gazillionth time. The 1998 film version that is. I just love it to death. The musical score by Basil Poledouris is just to die for and Hans Matheson is so perfect as Marius :D

Oh, my goodness that makes 2 of us on AU that have seen it. Huzzah!

You'd never have known he was British, he had a really good accent and he managed to portray two completely different characters, without confusing everyone. It was waaaay different to the books (I reckon after reading the first 2 they threw the other 3 away, lol) but it was still a good film. The biggest problem for me was Thimbletack. When I found out Martin Short was voicing him, I panicked, and I was right as he was much too OTT and manic. Thimbletack was like a Treebeard almost, slow and speaking in rhyme. I just wanted to stand on this Thimbletack. :P

Are we the only ones [on here] who have seen it?!

Freddie was excellent and I think he did a very good job on the accent. It was a wee bit flawed here and there but it was barely noticeable. He did so much better than many of his older fellow Hollywood actors! I haven't read the books so I can't compare but I thought the film was fantastic. It was way different from what I thought it would be (better than I thought it would be). I was alone in the whole theater, hahahaha. Private show!

I didn't really mind Thimbletack as a character, I just thought he looked too computerized. Obviously he was but he looked almost Disney/Pixar-like.

I think we may be, no-one else had posted about it. :teehee:

There were a couple of lines when he reverted back to English-accent, but on the whole he did a pretty fine job. I've seen adults with worse accents than him. :P Lol, yes people who haven't read the books seem to have been generally surprised at how it good it was, it's done quite well box office and critic wise. Yay for private shows! That happens a lot to me and my brother in our cinema, if you pick the right showing. ;) Yeah, some of the CGI was a tad disappointing but I loved the ride sequence on Byron, that was amazing. :-o

"Crash". It seems like every time I'm watching tv, this movie is playing on FX or AMC or something.

coffee and cigarettes. wonderful. i love how it strips away all the nonsense and focuses on the bare bones of performance - acting, writing and directing. there's something realy refreshing about watching people just sit and act.

ohio impromptu. absolutely mesmerising. jeremy irons has the most amazing voice which holds me completely spellbound. i can see why beckett purists may take issue with it, but i think it's marvellous.
