*bounces in*
I like the idea of personalized banners.
The poor voters if we made them actually choose. Their brains would explode.
That and I think the personalization adds more to it. Like every single one is specifically for the graphic makers' club, but still unique. [Tired, ignore my rambling.]
Eowynellie - If you go to my fan art thread, I wrote up a list of a ton of different resource sites I use for brushes and whatnot[and a lot I don't use but kept handy just in case.] Deviantart and livejournal are great, too, but in any case you've got to make sure the abr file is compatible with your version of photoshop or that the set has an image pack with it. I can't tell you how many brushes I've downloaded for CS2 & CS3 when I only have photoshop 7. =P

Nah JF, I have decided to go a different direction with the awards.
Who here will agree with me that graphic making really goes in cycles?

I couldn't agree with you more smeag. I am at the moment, on a complete graphics high. (I'd be happier if I didn't have so many AU contests to join, as I have a ot of ideas I want to put forward) but at the moment, life is good.
And in answer to a previous question - text is a pain in the arse. 'Nuff said. Gives me the most trouble than anything else I use on a graphic.

Most trouble will either be the text or simply making the graphic look good. It depends on the graphic for which is which.
Although, cycles is also referring to type of graphic and style. Like, a few years ago it was glitters, then textures and brushes, and now it is more simplistic and random.

Here's the wallpaper i made a few hours ago, it is very simplistic, and simple... and yeah. But I love it.

I hate text with the firey burning passion of a thousand burning suns. I see other peoples text and my jaw drops and i get jealous. I can't do squat with text. Cezanne and Laundromat 1967(i think) are my faves right now. I went through a Porcelain phase, but thank god thats over.
Aww, i love that banner smeagy, the rainbow text is amusing.

So.. here are the rankings:
JF, Balathor, and Darky hate text.
Smeag hates text at times.
I do not believe anyone else has mentioned anything.
Thank you Darky.

Hmm... I hate text on PSP. Because you have to move each little bit one at a time if you put it in a bad spot.
I spent the last hour or so making this wallpaper -

Which I like, but I found out it doesn't fit my computer screen.

Resize it then, Shadowcat.

But it gets warped, because my screen is... warped. And in a weird size.
I usually like text. But now and then, I want to murder it. With a very large axe.
Maybe I'll go find some new fonts.

New fonts are <3
What I do is log in to Dafont every once and a while just to see if they have any new text.
Yeah... I see. You can always crop it a little to size.

Ah, I see what you mean about cycles. Well I think there are cycles more so with forums than an individual's taste. For example, the glitter names, I mean everyone wanted them at one time, so graphic makers had to make them.
When it comes to brushes and textures, I think they are always in demand and used, it just depends on the graphic that's being made at the time.
Text is just evil. Sometimes it goes unbelievably well and other I just spend ages staring at the screen... *duh* .....
I spent hours the other week on Dafont going through all the font pages. Was quite good fun. I still need to finish a couple of pages though, and then I can move onto other font sites.

Oh, I totally agree! Especially because my computer can't open zip files, so I can't really use anything from Dafont... I need to download tff files instead.
I found a really neat font called "Broken Ghost" from Dafont, but I couldn't get it.
