"I agree, but children should not know war before they absoloutly must. Too many fathers, uncles, grandfathers have I seen killed defending this forest. Too may orphans has Morgoth Baulir made. However, you are beginning to sway me to think otherwise."

"The race of men fight in battles as we do," Arwen said, smiling. "Some of them fight at ages barely under two decades, would you have them stop fighting as they do? Even children, my lord, will battle for what is right."

"The race of Men is not to whom I was reffering. We are the Firstborn, Arwen. An old man amongst the Edian would still be a child to us, true, but amongst his people, he is ancient. I believe that, as ecah race has it's adulthood age, fighters should be, at minimum, that age. A warrior with too few winters behind him would be easy prey. I do agree that all will fight for a valiant cause, but I despise the needless exposure to death, the careless loss of life."

"That is all true," Arwen said. "But why speak of it, Turwaithion? I run beside your horses, I carry weapons as you do. I have fought in the forest for years beyond my own counting." She smiled. "I have no plans for death yet."

"Nor do I." Turwaithion said slowly "But Mandos waits for us all. I will, likely, not see Valinor. But, if I die, then I will make a life worth living. An end worth remembering." he finished fiercly

Arwen did not answer, her blue gaze fixed straight ahead of her. She had nothing to say to that, no reply. She simply gave her faint smile and re-shouldered her pale white bow.

(No ideas. *Shrugs* I suppose we should wait for the others, so there aren't too many pages for them to catch up with.)

( good golly...slow down)
Deawen lost intrest in the conversation after Turwaithion explained his past. She focused on the woods her thoughts as fluttering as a butterfly's wings. But when they came to the river Deawen stopped her horse and stared at the waters in fear. she slowly dismounted and stood as far from the bank as possible. She planted her self to the ground and refused to cross. That fear of water welled up inside her, she could only stare at the waters infront of her.

Deawen shook her head and remained rooted to her position. Her horse Crossed, following the other horses, but Deawen stood her ground. " I am not crossing that!" she shouted her voice cracking.

Turwaithion dismounted and pulled himself across "Deawen, you have to. There is no ford nearby. Just hold onto the rope, you won't be carried off."

Arwen turned, seeing the human girl afraid to cross the river. She called out, trying to reassure her, "it's perfectly safe to cross. The water's a bit cold, but just hang onto the rope tight."

Deawen slowly walked down the bank to the water's edge. She looked pale from her fear and her hands shook as she grasped the rope. gingerly she stepped into the shallow water, she took each step slowly, she held her breath as the cold water swirled about her waist, she felt the current pull her to the side. She started to feel confident with her self, when suddenly her foot slipped on a loose rock. Deawen fell backward dispite the attempt to correct herself. Deawen gripped the rope her knuckles white with fear and panic. Her short stature was no match with the current, she was half way and she was already having to half swim across. Once she had her footing she sprinted out of the water up the bank and to the nearest tree. She sprang up to a low branch and sat ther shaking.

Arwen shifted her longbow on her shoulder and sighed. She looked up at the tree Deawen was sitting in. She could, in a way, understand the girl's fear of the river, but then in another way she could not comprehend it at all. "Are you alright?" she asked kindly with a small smile at the human sitting shivering.
