I don't know what the short story is like...but either this version left out a whole lot, or the 2007 REALLY embellished it. XD And well ... the ENDING. *coughcompletelydifferentcough* But it was still okay. No Christian Bale to stare at and drool all over, but Glenn Ford was lovely as Ben Wade. Ohhh...old movies. ESPECIALLY old Westerns. *shakes head* What really makes me laugh is the music. SO overly dramatic. Oh well...it was a fun movie.
There is a lonely train... called the 3:10 to Yuma... the pounding of the wheels is more like a mournful sigh.. there's a legend and there's a rumour when you take the 3:10 to Yuma you can see the ghosts of outlaws riding by.... in the sky... way up high the buzzards keep circling the train... while below the cattle are thirsting for rain.. it's also true they say on the 3:10 to Yuma, a man may meet his fate for fate travels everywhere... though you've got no reason to go there and there ain't a soul that you know there... when the 3:10 to yuma whistles is sad refrain.... take that train
I LOVE that film! Own it, in fact and the song, lol. Personally I prefer the ending in this to the new one, I don't think the fact Van Heflin survives takes anything away from the grittyness and the danger of the story. I think it's message is even more powerful really, that even though a man was possibly going to die, he still did what was right and on this ocassion was rewarded in the end. The people who left him are the ones who are going to spend the rest of their lives suffering. I actually don't think anyone died in the short story.
Most westerns in those days had really cheesy songs, but I actually like that one. And Glenn Ford... :drools: ... I'm afraid he beats Christian Bale to the droolworthy award for me.
Gentlemen Prefer Blondes Boomerang - Dana Andwers... mmhhmm...

National Treasure: Book of Secrets - RILEY!!! Okay, so I watch that movie for Riley. So sue me, I like geeks.
Daredevil: Director's Cut - PWNAGE. Everyone who is even a hint of a comics fan, or superhero fan, or whatever, MUST watch the DC of this movie. Because it is just that cool. It has the same feel as Batman Begins except it's about a blind lawyer.
Move Over, Darling -
"Why can't you get rid of her?!?"
"I can't get rid of her...because...because there's someone at the door!"
XD

I watched a bit of the third Harry Potter on TV. Honestly, as much as I love HP, the third movie...... is slightly nauseating. Daniel Radcliffe..... might actually be worse than Hayden Chrsitiansen in that one.
