Agreed. I'd rather not watch Torchwood than to have them ruin it forever.
You know, I think Torchwood has sort of ruined Doctor Who for me, a wee little bit. I still love Doctor Who, don't get me wrong, but now when I watch it I think its juvenile, too scripted and refined to be family friendly. Now again, that's not to say that I don't like Doctor Who anymore: I do. I love it to pieces, but Torchwood is so much better.

I know what you mean Naur. Whenever I watch Doctor Who I can't help but think. 'We all know the Doctor is going to win, we all know that they're going to live, for now.'
But with Torchwood, anything can happen. That was shown by the Death of Owen and Tosh. And in 'Small Worlds' they showed that the good guys don't always win.

Oh. No. You. Didn't. *Ghetto snaps in a z formation*
ENGAGED TO IANTO! Let me set this straight. Either he's with Jack, or with me. It could be both, that'd be just dandy, but saying he's engaged to you...blasphemy! I mean, I had a dream about him! He was in my subconsious, being british and yummy!
Just kidding. Sort of. It'll be hard for me, but I guess you can have him, as long as we can share (I might have to convince him to cheat on you )
Yeah, Small Worlds, Fragments, Adrift...they're good episodes because they mirror reality: the good buys don't always win, and a victory can still be tainted.

Like there really was a victory in those three eppies.
You guys are right. Doctor Who just seems so fluffy now. And that's nice, and I luffers DW, but... mehh. Bring on the blood and guts and death and REAL-ness.

I love fluffyness, thanks.
Torchwood makes me laugh to absolutely no end, but really, I've actually thought it to be over-hormonal. It is, really. Sure, people hook up, but not with everyone they come in contact with.
I still love DW first.

You lot can fight over Ianto all you like. I really don't mind as long as I get to have both Owen and Tosh
Actually I kind of disagree. The new Doctor Who episodes are getting a lot more serious. The Fires of Pompeii is a brilliant example. True, the Doctor saved that family, but he had to let the entire city die. And we saw how it absolutely pained the Doctor to do that. Then in the Planet of the Ood. While the Doctor did save the day, we saw how they enslaved the Ood and that was just heartbreaking.

Let's not fight over Ianto. Because he's mine.
And DW is getting a lot more serious, actually, that's true. It isn't all fluff anymore.

I have to agree with you, Caunion and TD. The Fires of Pompei was a very good episode and it was quite serious. I havn't seen the Ood one yet, but I do look forward to it. But I still can't shake the feeling that, while Doctor Who isn't childish, its not as...oh, what's the word....intense, raw, I can't think of it exactly, but its different from Torchwood. NOt a serious. I think thats a good description. You're almost always going to have a good laugh during Doctor Who, but that's not an integral part of Torchwood.
Tar-Dis (*gasp* your name! Its back! Yay!) You've just started a Ianto war! *pounces* Grawr!

That's kind of odd, isn't it? The line between Doctor Who and Torchwood are starting to blur. I think they're getting Mickey and Martha into Torchwood to attract younger audiences, which is ironic, seeing as Torchwood was created for more adultish viewers.

I'm glad its back. I miss Torchwood so much. Do you know what I was thinking (Of course you don't. No one does. It might just kill them if they did) How cool would it be to have the Doctor in Torchwood? We've seen Jack kidified for Doctor Who (I know I'm not being fair: he was orignally in Doctor Who) but still! To see the Doctor in a more grown up light. Think how awesome that could be!

Ha, I would get a HUGE kick out of that. Seeing the Doctor in Torchwood would be so amazing. I don't even know if it could be pulled off though. The Doctor is already too...I don't know, kid-appropriate for him to be in Torchwood. Like, we knew Jack was more than that from the first time we met him, but I don't if the Doctor can be.
And it's funny, because I've been thinking more and more of Torchwood lately, because a friend of mine started win a fanfic of Doctor Who, and she managed to talk me into doing a spin off fanfic, of Torchwood. So I've been rewatching all the episodes.

Pulling a Gwen and walking in on Jack and Ianto...kill me now. I've just pictured it, so now I can die happy .
I would like to see the Doctor swear. He can get so angry at times. He just needs to let loose an f-bomb or two and call people some pretty horrible names. He could totally pull it off to.
Yeah, I agree Tar-Dis. It would be extremely difficult to write the Doctor into Torchwood. But we already know that the writers are excellent (with skill levels that should be illegal) and they did write Martha in very well. I think it could be done, carefully. I just think that a lot of old time Doctor Who fans would be ticked off with the Doctor in Torchwood, because they are so different. But oh well, those people can deal (if it ever happens)

I have never laughed harder at anything. Oh my goodness. Just the thought of the Doctor just cussing someone out... "Everyone just shut the eff up for a minute!"
