Well everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but just for the look of ST, it's worth liking even a little bit. The set design and the costumes and the way they used colour was amazing and really quiet artsy which most people seem to like these days. Add to that a brilliant performance from the older leads and vocals and you have a pretty neat film. Whether it differs from the play, I don't know but I think they did a pretty damn good job, and if the guy who wrote the musical was happy to let Burton handle his baby, then who am I to judge?

The Happening

OOoooooooooooooooooooooooooh. I don't know why this film takes so much crap. I LOVED it. Sure, it's not the BEST film on the planet.... and oh, noes... one has to use ones brain and *gasp* imagination and suspend belief for 90 minutes..... but I thought it was a pretty neat idea and NO-ONE can say Shyamalan doesn't try to bring a bit of originality to the screen. Overall, I was more than happy with it. And there were some shockers and some laughter, which played against each other nicely. I'm more than happy I spent those 90 mimutes watching that, and that's all anyone can ask for. 4/5

Agreed with you JF. The Happening was great.

Last night I watched The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe in preparation for seeing Prince Caspian today.

Really enjoyed it a lot.

the chronicles of narnia: prince caspian. well worth the wait. it was very different from the book, but for every unnecessary change there was one that i thought improved on the book, so i'll forgive them that. there were some great humourous moments and some wonderful moments of poignancy; and i thought peter and caspian sparked off each other well (you could practically smell the testosterone).

I saw CoN: prince Caspian for the third time today. :D I mean, not the third time in one day, but the third time since it's been out! :bounce: still have to say that it's amazing.

"Flower Drum Song"

"The Visitor"
Woah. One of the best movies I've seen in quite a while. Perhaps it was "blatant liberalist propaganda" but it was sure brilliant.
Also, Tarek was gorgeous.

"Wanted"
Yeah, it was a predictable, stupid action movie, but it was sure as hell entertaining. It was blatantly ripping off every action film in history, but it did it entertainingly. Would have been better if I hadn't gone to the midnight premiere with two hundred drunk college students though.

The Phantom of the Opera

Andrew Lloyd Weber is not all he's cracked up to be. He's like Stephen King, everyone raves about how amazing everything they do is, when in all actuality, it's pretty pathetic. And Gerard Butler is way hotter in 300... and Raoul needs a serious haircut.

Well Andrew Lloyd Webber is actually pretty much a genius when it comes to music. I'm not a musical person but even I can tell when a piece of music is nice and well written. And his musicals are on the whole amazing, from the lyrics and the songs and everything. You know. it's not his fault that Raoul's hair is long (although that was the fashion for young men at the time) as he didn't direct the film. It's a fantastic musical in my opinion and one of my all time favourites.

@ Phoenix - Yay someone who liked it! :D

Well I haven't been watching any films as such, but I have been watching an awful lot of LOTR documentaries. :teehee:

Long list coming...

The Truman Show: OH MY GOODNESS. :swoon: This movie should be required viewing for all people. I am not even joking. It's just pure genius.

Prince Caspian: Twice, actually. Once on opening night and once a couple weeks later. It basically owns ALL the other movies out right now.

The Incredible Hulk: Opening night showing, baby. And it pwned. Having not seen the Ang Lee version, I can't comment on whether or not it was better, but I enjoyed this one immensely, particularly Liv's performance. And he said "HULK SMASH", which pretty much made it worth the $10. :D

Iron Man: yes, again, the day after I saw Hulk. I was going to see them both on the same night, but the nervy theaters don't show movies at 1 AM. :disgust: :P Ah well, it's still amazingness.

Fantastic Four: I like this movie. Go away. :P One thing I did notice, though, is that three of my guy friends and I could pretty much *be* the FF. I mean, I'm a brunette, but still, I could be Sue...and one of them is a tall, skinny nerd who likes building things like Reed...and one is a little on the thick side and the nerd's best friend like Ben...and the last one isn't really much like Johnny Storm, but I ran out of people and got desperate. :teehee:

The second half of Spider-Man: Some movie channel was showing it and my mom didn't care what we watched. Yay me! :D Also bits and pieces of The Day After Tomorrow on another channel during the Spidey commercial breaks, which I wanted to watch more of but couldn't because it ended at midnight and nobody else wanted to watch it.

X2: X-Men United: LOVE. THIS. MOVIE. The end. :swoon:

National Treasure: Book of Secrets: I adore Riley. Seriously. He just rocks. :D

Hairspray: I actually like this movie, even though I'm not crazy about Zac Efron. I mostly watch it for the music, and Amanda Bynes and James Marsden. :P

Oh, yes, and How to Eat Fried Worms FIVE MILLION TIMES. Actually, bits and pieces of that movie OVER AND OVER for TEN DAYS. We have a car DVD player, you see, and my mother foolishly bought that DVD for my brother to take on our road trip. He then proceeded to watch small portions of it over and over and over, usually the parts where the worms were getting microwaved or fried or dipped in tabasco sauce. :duh: I actually used to kind of like that movie before all this...
