Sigefolc nodded, exaimining the roof. The gap was only a few metres wide, but about 4 meters long. The gold thatch lay in a pile, swept up by Alais and Sigefolc the morning after the storm. "Oh?" he said, taking a sip of water "What has occupied King Eomer? The last I heard, King Elessar and King Eomer had no quarrell, and the Dunlander's have not bothered us for several years, now" he remarked.

*Sen walked into the hall, both of his sons hanging off his arms. He noticed they had a guest, so he laughed, as he let them down, and kneeled in front of them.*
Alright, alright. Enough for now; it seems as if we have a guest. Go get your ponies ready; I'll be along shortly.
*They nodded, and laughed as they scarpered down the stairs towards the stables. Sen chuckled slightly, as he stood up, and brushed his knees off.*
Indeed it is, my lady. A long time ago. Yet I bid you welcome, as much as it is my place to bid.
*Sen rubbed the back of his head, before continuing, glancing at Deawen.*
Oh, right. I guess it is my place. Anyway, let me introduce myself. My name is Sen, formerly of Athenar. Who might you be?
*Sen bowed to the guest, and stood beside Deawen, arm subconciously entwining with hers...*

"Yes, indeed we do," Goldleaf replied to Morwen. "And the White City and Osgiliath, my place of birth, were rebuilt some years ago. It is ten years past since the war ended."
Her gaze then turned to Sen, and she inclined her head. "I am Goldleaf, my lord, your wife has taken pity on me and allowed me to take rest here."

"Yes, I see. I ask because, as you see, we still have work going on here. I would imagine stone and thatch take longer to work with than wood and thatch," Morwen answered, nodding a greeting to Sen.

Deawen leaned against Sen " It has been eleven years since I married you Sen everything I have is yours you know that." she smiled up at him. " I fought in the battle for minas tirith, in fact I own, I mean we own, an estate in minas Tirith. " Deawen said motioning for her hand maiden to air out one of the guest rooms.

The din of a bell echoed softly through the hall as one hour after morning was kept. Deawen sighed, " That is one thing I miss from minas Tirith, The sweet bells." Deawen said absently. " You will be joining us for the Beltane I hope. " she spoke to goldleaf.
Midira shuffled into the hall with dreams and sleep still about her sweet face. She wedged herself between Sen and Deawen, then yawned. Deawen picked her up without a thought. " Good morning lytel an" Deawen whispered to her daughter. "Your fatehr and brothers are going for a hunt if you dress quickly I am sure they wouldn't mind you hunting with them." Deawen whispered Midira went rigid with excitment, sleep and dreams vanished from her face. " Really?" she asked Deawen nodded placed Midira down, who dashed from the hall to her bedchamber.

Goldleaf smiled politely. She was not particularly wealthy, and owned only a small house in Osgiliath that had once belonged to her parents. In the ten years that had passed since the war of the ring she had led a simple life; she had no need for grandure, nor indeed, any desire for it. All she had ever wanted was a husband, and a family, but now she was twenty-nine, and in the long years of peace she had not yet met any man she might have wished to wed. The only man she would have wanted as a spouse was long dead, and even he had turned her down for the din and clash of swords.
"Beltane?" she enquired. "I'm not familiar with Rohirric, I'm afraid. The only tongues I know are the common speech, Gondorian and a little Elvish. Does this mean breakfast?"

(Correct me if I'm wrong, Deawen, but I think I get the drift...)
Morwen gave a small chuckle. "No, it is an ancient festival celebrating the beginning of summer. The lords of the city host it, and there are bonfires, feasting, games, and on and on..." she motioned with her hand. "My favorite is a game where the players are blindfolded, and each takes an oat cake from a basket. The catch is, one cake is blackened; the lucky chooser who receives that cake has to jump over a bonfire three times." She trailed off into remembrance of when her brother grabbed the lucky cake three consecutive times. "As for breakfast-if you are hungry- I'm sure my cook would not mind. That is, not to steal your guest, Deawen."

( Morwen we talked about it for ten minutes how could you not get the drift? Just to let you know you hit it dead on,)
Deawen had to stiffle a chuckle, it wasn't polite for the lady of the house to laugh at a guests lack of knowledge, even if they were forgein. She let Morwen explain before chiming in. " Beltane is a fertility festival, I stopped jumping over the bonfires after I had Midira, three was enough for me, I enjoy seeing my toes once and awhile..."she stated with a small laugh remembering how she wadled around and nearly bit everyone's head off, she was more bossy than the head mare of a horse herd.
" No go ahead less people to work around" she laughed merrily it was going to be a good day.
( My key board is threating to give out so please forgive the errors.)

"Ah, I see," Goldleaf said. "We have nothing like that in Gondor." She gave a small smile. "It sounds fun. We do sometimes hold festivities in Osgiliath, where local musicians play tunes and people sell their goods at market stalls. Our two countries are very different in customs, suffice to say, King Elessar would not be best pleased if his people started jumping over bonfires... his guards would think that we were holding a rebellion." She laughed. "I will be at a loss at your beltane."

Morwen took Goldleaf's comment sharply. "You mustn't imply that we are not civilized. You record your culture in stone cities and monuments. Ours lives in the people." She took a quick breath and let it out through her nostrils. "Anyway,ábrecanfæst. Breakfast?"
