Sorry that I acted like that, it's just that Disney shouldn't be criticized that much(now more than ever because they are coming back with 2D), and not being faithful to books or history it's one of the things Disney get critized. People complain that Disney was the devil, that it's homophobe, racist, and cheesy and child-friendly. The Princess and the Frog is getting bad reviews just because the heroine is african-american.

Besides, althought Disney isn't faithful to stories, somethimes those films are wonderful. Look Prince Caspian, it was good. And the Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Hunchback of Notre Dame... And also Disney is made to create 2D. Live-action was never ment for Disney.

Sorry again, folks

No prob, Fae. Yes, Disney shines in 2D. (Beauty and the Beast is my all time favourite... :) )

I saw it weeks ago but never got around to posting what I thought of it.I liked it,thought it was entertaining enough,I think there were more added plot devices than the Lion, the witch and the Wardrobe, but I'm not one to nitpick about stuff like that.I did like the score, but I agree with Elegost, that the song at the end was kinda out of place in a movie like that.
so yeah I had no real problems with it,I reckon it was worth the 15 bucks(and what ever the DVD costs if I buy it later)
Oh and how good was Reepicheep?!? Pretty mad for a CG critter.

just brushed up on this a little bit... ;) lol, Fae you probably should ignore a lot of my posts then if you don't like hearing Disney get made fun of... :innocent: but like Nurr said I get extremely frustrated with them on more than one occasion for some of the dumb things they like to do to the fans. :eyeroll: they can get really annoying... but I shall leave my ranting for later. lol

anyway, er, where to jump in? you guys have taken off with this thread... :P and I'm glad to see more people enjoyed the movie. :D anyway, doesn't VotDT start filming in November? Or was it September? :erm: I can't wait to see how they make it! Hopefully it's even better than LWW and PC! :P

Saw it ages ago, yeh was good. But was king miraz meant to remind me of a dirty old pirate? Plus i think it was a bit like LOTR, by the trees, the water man and the kiss susan and caspian ha at the end of the movie reminded me of arwen and aragorn an ickle bit.

I think pretty much any fantasy film nowadays is going to have to put up with having parts of it compared to LOTR - but then again the walking trees bit (which I don't believe was in the books, more like people with tree elements and not completely trees) kinda asks for everyone to put and scream "ents!". (Like I did, lol).

*nods* Yes, and I really like the end song, but I still think it should have been saved for the end credits.

You know, in the scene where they're cutting down the trees, my friend Devon leaned over (he was sitting next to me) and said "The trees are strong, my lord, their roots grow deep." And I cracked up. :teehee:

Then, of course, the instant I walked out of the theater I said "Dang, I had the perfect opportunity to say 'The Ents are going to war."

And the River God, who I admit bore more than a slight resemblance to the water horses Arwen/Elrond called up.

XD That's funny. I wish I'd thought of that. :D

Yesh... the least you can do is try not to make it look like you copied from LOTR. The trees were not a part of the story, they didn't resemble dryads and they certainly didn't have roots 19 miles long that shot across the battlefield taking people out as they went. So the only reason I can see the trees looking like ents is... erm... I can't think of any really. You'd have thought they'd have gone as far away from Ent-like beings as possible. :P

I know! The trees were the one thing that bugged me because they were so unneccesary. :P And they looked SO like Ents...

Really. Did they have to?

I thought they were there, but aren't they...different in Narnia? (It's been a while since I read the books so forgive me. :P ) Like, the trees have 'spirits' that move seperately from them. The trees don't actually move.

Because in the Last Battle, wasn't the king talking to a tree spirit and then it fell over dead because somewhere, its tree had been cut down?
