Yesterday, I watched,

Memoirs of a Geisha which my friends have been trying to get me to watch forever. The cinematography was brilliant. Some of the shots were just absolutely stunning. The acting was good too [apparently, the actors only knew the English for their lines, but they spoke it so well that i didn't notice]. The storyline I found sort of confusing however. Lots of jumping around to different times and men whose names I couldn;t remember, etc. All in all, not a bad movie though.

Becoming Jane I don't understand why everyone told me this was so horrible. I liked it. I even thought Anne Hathaway did a half decent job, though admittedly she's not one of my favourite actresses. And JAMES MCAVOY. :swoon:  :swoon: Gorgeous and wonderful. And the ending was nice and bittersweet, not too happy, but not too sad.

The Alamo (1960)

John Wayne=love. It's hard not to like this man after seeing a film of his, especiallya film made of one's state. :D

The X-Files: I Want To Believe

Just got home about an hour ago after seeing this with my parents. It had nothing to do with aliens, but I still liked it a lot :). Any Mulder+Scully "ship" fans, this is a must-see for you guys ;).

The Lord of the Rings, Extended Editions of all three. I pulled an all-nighter with a friend I hadn't seen in two years, who actually got me into LOTR. Of course, she wouldn't shut up about my crush on Faramir (not that SHE can talk, SHE likes Aragorn :teehee:) but it was a blast anyway. :D

And then the other night my mom decided it would be fun to stay up all night with my brother and me and watch movies, so we did. Mostly Disney, actually. (The Aristocats, The Jungle Book, Cinderella, Hoot, and Lion King 1 1/2) We're just cool like that. :P

And I just finished The Bachelor and the Bobbysoxer about 20 minutes ago. You gotta love Carey Grant.

Watched X-Files at the theatre Saturday night. I wanted to believe it would be good, but aside from Scully (Gillian Anderson) looking good, the screenplay was sub-par. It was more like a 2 hour long TV show that seemed more CSi/Criminal Minds/Law & Orderish than old-school X-Files. I know now that I should have opted to see Batman - Dark Knight instead. Oh well.

Batman - Oooooooh, I really liked this film. I'd never seen it before but my brother said I should watch it before we go to see "The Dark Knight". I really, really enjoyed it. I thought Michael Keaton was pretty darn good as Batman, I liked the fact there was clearly a Bruce Wayne and a Caped Crusader. Apart from the bit where Bruce Wayne parties in "Batman Begins", pretty much they're both the same - miserable, lol. So it was nice to see some kind of distincton between the two. Vicki Vale. :notworthy: Please modern screenwriters go back and see how they used to write love interests of superheroes, where they were not annoying but actually useful and had characters. Thank you. I really liked her, I thought she was nice character that served a purpose. The way Gotham City was protayed was awesome. You could tell just how the film looked it was Tim Burton. Gotham City looks too nice in "Batman Begins", here it looked creepy and mangy and I think that really added to the atmosphere. Jack Nicholson's Joker. OMG. He was hilarious. I suppose it's not hard to play the Joker when you've decided to potray him like that, but I thought he was really very good. So watchable, and from my little knowledge of the chaarcter, how the Joker is meant to be. He had some great lines as well, and was more of a Tim Burton kinda character.

It was completely different to "Batman Begins", it's like comparing something fun and entertaining like POTC to a more serious Saving Private Ryan, and although it's a lesser film I think technically, I was so entertained by it. :D

^I personally adore all the Batman movies, even the ones everyone says are terrible.

Equilibrium
Alright, so it's not the most original concept in the world, but it still rocked. Christian Bale is dead sexiness incarnate. The beginning and the ending... cheesy. But the twists were good. And there was an acceptable amount of half-dressed Christian Bale, so all in all, I'm rather pleased with it.
