Thanks for the offer. It'd take a lot of site changes we can't do, and besides, it's nice being involved in such things. Like I said before, the main thing was (seeming) lack of interest! Now I'm thinking things will prossibly get rolling again...

I think that we're all still very interested, we just expect the Mods to get the ball rolling. :)

I was just thinking about the same thing.
Where have they gone? I really like it when people get recognized for their liking of something.
I know I felt that way when I won the Most Dedicated to A Place in Middle Earth in the Round 2 awards.

I think it would be great to have them back again.
I'm interested!

It's as Riniel said, we thought the Mods would start it up when it was time. And I'm definitely interested in the MAs! :)

^Aye, hopefully the mods aren't too busy and can come up with a date before September/school begins? :confuzzled: Computer time will be waayy limited for me then and I'm not sure how much I would be able to come on... perhaps RotR could really end with a bang? Said bang being of course, the MA's..

I would definitely like to get the ball rolling before school starts because my life will promptly be sucked away by schoolwork. If the Mods were to start asking for nominations today it would be fine with me!
But yes, ending RotR with MAs might be a good idea. Though I'm not really sure what it has to do with the overall theme this year... :P

Erm, I third that. I'd definitely prefer if the MAs were during the remainder of the summer. School's about to start and this new year is going to be hectic. >_>

Gaw, I got a new hectic job and I havent been around at all, I was hoping someone has started something with this.

To be honest I've never organised a members award before, so I'm a little uncertain on how we organise things.
But you guys have been around alot for member awards. Y'know what, it seems that every mod seems to be busy at the moment, so lets just go ahead and do things differently, how about we just get the ball rolling ourselves.

A Member run members awards?

What needs to be done? Lets get ourselves a list together. On my downtime or lunch break I'll try do the mod half of everything for you, but if you guys set it all up I'd be happy to help.
I'd be happy to have pm's sent to my inbox to protect the privacy of voting (i'll clean it out so i actually have room first lol) And post what you guys want posted where.

Sound cool?

gaw, I gotta get back to work, I have labels to design >.<

Sounds great to me Jo! Thanks :D

Well, a few of the things we need to organize...

...What awards are we doing this round?
...Who should nominations be sent to? (Jo?)
...Should we write descriptions for the awards in the voting thread?
...(I assume Jo will put up the voting threads)
...Are people only allowed to be nominated for a certain number of awards? If so, how do we deal with multiple nominations if they are recieved?
...Who will make the awards? (Winner of the best graphics award? :teehee: )

That's all I can think of right now. :P

Awesome :D sounds like a good starting point. Cheese a deadline where you want it all to be done by and work to that.

(my brain works on deadlines now, stupid work its in my braaaaaaaaaain!)

Well, school is starting at different times for different people, so I think it's unrealistic to get it done, all nominations in and such before school starts... but sometime in September would be nice, maybe towards the end if we can get this all started by the end of this month, even sooner.

I'll help with this in any way I can.

I agree that aiming to have it completely finished by late-ish September would be a good idea. Maybe we could try to have all of the nominations done by August 30th, and get the polls set up right after that?

Someone needs to find the list of all the old MAs we used to have, so we can decide how many to keep, how many to add, etc. After that we can post threads in the different sections asking for nominations, like we used to.

I'm willing to help out where I can. After all, I brought it up in the first place. :teehee:

Here is a list of the awards that have been used in the past few rounds:

ROUND 7
Lament for Gandalf Award (Most into LotR Music)
Istari Award (Wisest)
Minstrel Award (Best RPGer)
White Wizard Award (Tolkein Knowledge)
Misty Mountains Award (Best middler)
Eldest Award (Best Oldie (2.5+ years))
Numenorian Award (Best 12+ months member)
Lothlorien Award (Best Graphics)
Haradhrim Award (most into something other than LotR)

ROUND 6
Samwise Gamgee Award (Most Helpful)
Nazgul Award (Most Fanatic Fangirl)
Defender of the Professor Award (Tolkein Purist)
For The Shire Award (Most posts in LotR sections/LotR-focused posts)
Tom Bombadil Award (Most random)
The Mirror of Galadriel Award (Most obsessed with the LotR Movies)
The Green Dragon Award (Most Welcoming)
Merry and Pippin Award (Most Amusing)
Ent Award (Longest Posts)
Fool of a Took Award (Most typos)

ROUND 5
(same as round 7 except for...)
Ioreth Award (Best chatter)
Ranger Award (devotion to Middle-Earth region)
Rivendell Award (best signature and avatar combo)
Maiar Award (devotion to middle-earth race)
Sting Award (best debater)

Wow, that was a lot.
Anyway, I'd prefer if we mixed around the awards from every round into this round, but I understand if it's a better idea to stick to the schedule. Since it's been so long, though, I don't see the harm in having a larger-than-normal round. After all, we may have to accept that if the Mods aren't as active as they used to be the Member Awards won't come as often as they used to.
But that's just my two cents. What do y'all think?

(Having nominations in and polls up around August 30th sounds good to me.)

^I think so. I'm not sure if it only applies to one round or all future rounds. (All future rounds makes sense to me...)
