Thalabor looked towards the Lord of the Westfold and then towards the box he had carried all the way from Ithilien.
"I am truly sorry for your loss, my friend, the wars of the last age was a heavy burden for us all."
He gave the box a grim look, and said:
"I hope they found peace in death..."
It was a relief for Thalabor when Lord Sen changed subject, and he smiled back at Sen.
"I've heard a lot of the fiests held here in Rohan, Lady Éowyn talks about the feasts held in Edoras and Aldburg a lot."
"But it's very different to hear about it, and see it yourself I reckon."
"If you don't mind, I need to go find my brother."
Thalabor hurried out of the hall and headed for the stables.
---------------------
Curubor was passed by a Rohirric man on his way out of the Halls and gave him a nodd.
He turned down the steps and strode of towards the stables and found out that there where more people there than he had expected.
Apparently they had started the fiest a bit earlier and they where singing in their mother tongue while one of them played on a lute((or similar)).
As he seated himself among the old stable master and his family, he was offered a drink.
He gladly accepted it.
(( OOC: Be ready for a "slightly" drunk tall guy in my next post
Don't know what to do with Merilas (Curubor's wife) and Alaglín (son)...))

" searching for something?" Eston asked Goldleaf as he stepped up behind her. His tone was neither friendly nor hostile, simply calm and even. He wore all black, accenting his lightly browned skin. His black hair was short, a sign of mourning. But he had grey eyes that seemed to see through a person rather than actually look directly at them and yet see you as who you really are not the false pretense we build around us.
He stood with his hands behind his back. " I cannot help but notice your aloofness." he commented softly, " I know Deawen has a bite, but I cannot beleive her words have such an effect on you." he smiled,
"My name is Eston, I am captain of THe westfolde Hall men at arms." he said executing a perfect bow.

Goldleaf turned, hearing Eston's voice.
"Just looking at my surroundings," she answered evenly. "It's beautiful here in Rohan. Quite different from Gondor." She gave a small smile. "Aloofness? No, I thought only to remain silent for a while." Her shrug of the shoulders was dismissive, but a hint of a laugh could be heard in her voice. "Trust me, my lord, her words have not had so very a big effect upon me. Us Gondorians indulge in debates from time to time."
When he introduced himself she inclined her head. "It's nice to meet you. My name is Goldleaf."

(A bit hard chronologically speaking, but I will do my best...)
*Sen nodded at Thalabor as he left, and shouted after him.*
That it is, my friend, that it is.
*He laughed as Deawen came up beside him, and reminded him about the bonfire...*
Indeed, my love, the time grows late quickly. I should change into something more... suitable for the feast. If you would excuse me.
*He addressed the last sentence to the guests, as he followed close on the heels of his wife. Opening his wardrobe, he sighed. It was a lot simpler in the past, he thought to himself, as he eyed over the many suits of clothing arrayed in front of him. The dark shades of colors in velvet contrasted with the black or brown travelling gear, set apart by a wooden divider. It was then that he knew what he was going to wear. A black velvet tunic with the symbols of Athenar, Gondor, and Rohan woven together across the chest. A pair of breeches and soft leather boots completed the outfit. Sen turned to Deawen, and his question died on his lips. It was a few seconds before he could speak again...*
My dearest love, you look wonderful, more so with each passing day. A shame I do not have the clothes sense that you do. What do you think?
*He said, and displayed his attire...*

Eston did not smile or show any emotion as Goldleaf talked. "You act as if Gondorians and The Rohirric are two seperate races. I assure you they are not." Eston smiled slightly, " I have spent years among the Gondorains but never found one like you." It was ment as a compliment. " you will make more enemies with separation than with mingling." he smiled again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Deawen turned surprised then smiled at his compliment. "You flatter me too much." she said straightening her dress. She made a fake criticle face and eyed the attire with aloofness. " It will do.." she said with her most stuck up voice. Deawen snorted and ruined her false scowl.
"I don't act as if they are different races." Goldleaf showed no offense at the man's words. "But I know our two rhealms are very different. As are the people. And I find it very difficult to believe you've never met another Gondorian such as myself. I grew up in Gondor, it's my home. Quite a lot of people there are quick to speak out of turn, like me. But just because we don't choose to be forever solemn, forever bound by our slot in life doesn't make us less of a good people."
Then she gave a laugh at Eston's final words. "I don't choose to seperate myself. How can I help it if those around me take against my ways that have no harm intended?" She fixed him with a steady blue gaze. "As for enemies, I fear nothing. I've encountered worse than a little irritation."
" Slot in life? Now Now who said anything about that my dear?" He asked clearly amused " Slot in life you say? Well consider this Lady Deawen's slot in life is to protect the Westfolde at all costs even if it means her end. She is bound by protocal and manners when dealing with guests, state affairs and day to day activities. If not bound by that what would stop her from having an imprudent guest locked away simply because the guest spoke out of turn... Eston Let Goldleaf finish " BItter Pride, love." he said with a smile then slantered off a maid who was busy with a table cuffed him over the ear and whispered harshly pointing to Goldleaf. Eston shrugged his bird like shrug and joined other guests.
(Ah! That was a whole lot to read! This is going so quickly! I will do my best to catch up.)
Morwen went and mingled among the lesser nobles of the Westfold, similar to her own rank. She had married into the noble class, so she had never completely mastered the necessary social skills. She ended up speaking with another of the King's herd keepers, this particular living in the Folde. Taking Deawen's not-so-subtle remark about preparation for the bonfires, she excused herself and made her way to the edge of the throng. She overheard Goldleaf offering her services to Deawen. When Deawen refused, Morwen snatched it up. She came up behind when Eston left and said, "However, I could use your service. My husband has left on...business. I would at least appreciate some company."
Goldleaf laughed out loud when Eston spoke and shook her head. She was not going to be put off by these people. She called behind him as he walked away, "ah, but you forget. She's not queen, is she?"
She walked in the opposite direction with a smile. She had to put a funny spin on it. This was getting ridiculous. She had one conversation with their lady and annoyed her a little. The king of Gondor, at least, would have had the grace to laugh and exchange in conversation, listening to her points. But this was no royalty. Lock her away? Her laughter echoed through the halls.
(Welcome back, Morwen ^^)
(MORWEN! Thank goodness you are back! Tell Amy to have her Foal already I have begged I have nagged and I have poked and still no baby.
Goldleaf, I have given you a second chance to change your attitude I will not ask again. Your Character’s attitude has become a nuisance. Every time someone wishes to confront your character in conversation it turns into “ Pride debate” it’s getting silly and needs to be tamed down please. You attract more flies with honey than vinegar. Even though flies are my mortal enemy..  )
Eston shrugged as he turned back to Goldleaf, He ignored her earlier comments deeming them worthless. " People here are only Suspicious of those who act cold and aloof." he said then turned away again the same maid that had cuffed him over the ear grabbed his ear and whispered " Leave her alone will ya?" Eston leaned without anger. " Now go Apologize to her you rouge." She let go of his ear then turned to her work.Eston straightened and smiled. "I apologize to you Lady, if I have offended you."
(O_o Sorry Deawen, my character's just a little proud, that's all. I'm sorry if I offended you in any way, but she's not exactly very... "polite". I'll try and tone her down a bit, but I thought it would be interesting if we had a character who wasn't continually polite. Otherwise, my RPing gets slightly dull wifh lack of anything better to say.
Oh! And I just read a bit of your last post, Morwen, that I accidentally missed when she asks Goldleaf for some company... will post with a word to her.
And also...
Revelation RP-style!)
Goldleaf turned back, and looked at Morwen before answering Eston. "I'd be glad to provide some company, if that's your wish." She then looked at the man of Rohan with a raised eyebrow.
"You offended me not at all," she said evenly. She reached into the pocket of her dress and brought out a small piece of silver. Opening the palm of her hand, she showed the shape of the tree of Gondor that took place in the Minas Tirith courtyard. This was a token of her job, given to her by the king. "It's the job of the Gondorian ambassador to ask questions to her host, raise a few unsaid issues if she can. And not take it to heart when her behaviour goes checked."
(Alright Goldleaf, I wasn't sure if you were being serious or if it was character based as long as I know it's just the rp and not personal.  everything will be fine.)
Eston didn't even look at the coin. "Lady Deawen is not a subject of the king of Gondor." His voice suddenly took a unfeeling ring his emotions masked by diplomacy. On the outside he was calm but inside he was estatic. " Why did she not introduce herself as ambassador before?" he asked himself.
(Of course it wasn't personal ^_^ I sent you a PM earlier, to see if everything's okay, but it's still in the outbox - but I'm glad to know this is all sorted out now!)
"I know it," Goldleaf replied with a bow of her head. "I was ordered to come here to see how everything goes. I was also asked to strike up conversations with Lady Deawen." She raised an eyebrow. "I did not introduce myself as the ambassador straight away because I thought that before I declared my status, I should only be treated as any other visitor."
Eston laughed, " Then you should be forwarned Lady Deawen and King Elessar do not get along, they share the same ideas but cannot seem to get along."
Eston dreaded telling Deawen about the Ambassador, she was in such a good mood and finally away from her work the last thing he wanted was for her to bury herself in her work again.
" Wise and unwise." he said slowly "It could be seen as spying, but then again what a better way to know your host than as a humble guest eh?" he smiled " I too know the rules of diplomacy."
