The half-elf meandered aimlessly across the field. She was assured that there were few who were brave or stupid enough to try and bar her way. She looked very much like a creature from a story mothers told their children to scare them into good behavior.
Her brown hair was matted into what resembled a bun, but it stuck out wildly in odd places. Maethoriel's skin had long turned what would be considered an ugly brown color from working outside for most of her life.
The woman's sleeves were so ill kept that the blood on them had long since turned black (the sleeves and shirt had been cream to begin with), they were now rolled up to her elbows revealing crisscrossing scars, given to her by a few nasty stays in prison. Her face may have been fair at one time, but a large scar dominated the left side and was very much a focal point now.
Maethoriel paused for a moment and took in the sweet metallic smell of blood, but considering there were no bodies..."Battle must have past. My luck." She leaned on her cane and propeled herself forward to see the tents, "Ah, I could use a bit of company. Hello!" She called, knocking on a wooden post used to tie up horses with her cane. "Anyone alive?"

( Ok sorry for the delay guys, I have cheerleading camp and Volleyball practice back to back and by the time I get home All I want is sleep and maybe food...sleep most likely)
Deawen heard the tap of wood on wood but wasn't sure what to make of it...it wasn't like she could just get up walk out of the tent and invastigate.

The woman sauntered through the camp, heedless to the fact that it was entirely probable that she would be considered a threat. She was confident that she could silence any upstart that attempted to bother her.
Her cane swung about her, hitting various objects to make more noise, trying to wake up or summon whoever was in charge. She started calling out in various languages as well, perhaps they did not understand her.

Maenel heard the noise and listened for a moment. A female voice, unafraid of whatever response she would get. She ate the last of her flatbread, washed it down with tea, and went to the tent flap and poked her head out. She was not easily shocked by appearances, but this stranger exceeded most of what she had seen before. "You have entered a military camp at breakfast. Nothing seems to destract them," she said, exiting the tent completely.

The woman raised a scarred brow and scratched her cheek where three healing gashes were, the scratching caused them to bleed again, but the woman didn't seem to realize. Maethoriel nodded, that made a lot of sense; soldiers were never one to miss breakfast, especially after a fight.
"Ah, well that certainly answers for the lack of impeding questions, thank Valar for that," she drawled dully, leaning comfortably on her cane. "This is a new camp, if I'm not mistaken. What realm do you hail from?" She questioned more out of civility than actual interest. Maybe being civil would be enough to get her a free breakfast... and more pipe weed, but she would settle for just breakfast.

Curiosity was Deawen's biggest weakness. She heard a new voice, though most of the camp was new voices to her, this was out of the ordinary.
Deawen tested her splinted leg and eased her self out of the cot. She felt the strain on the stitches but ignored it. She didn't wait for Fearan curiosity was too strong to wait. Deawen hobbled out of the tent before the Healer could stop her.
She wobbled over to the new woman and Maenel then stopped a short distance away.
The new Woman intrigued Deawen and yet Deawen was wary. She admired the relaxed composure of the woman yet Deawen suspected that the woman would be as ready to spring into action as a box of springs. Deawen shifted her cloak "Run while you still can, they take prisoners.." Deawen said then hobbled slightly away from Maenel.

Maethoriel swirled about on her heel to face Daewen, her dark eyes locked on the new comer. After a moment she tilted her head and her mouth split into what should have been a companionable grin, but it was so out of place with the rest of her features that it resembled a leer.
She let her mouth fall back into a straight line and shrugged in response to the woman's warning, "They have yet to attack me, young one. So, I believe that I am relatively safe, but I thank you for the concern anyway." She chuckled and straightened her sleeves so they covered her arms. Maenel's slight shock had been duly noted and she decided that keeping the sleeves up would induce questions. Maethoriel could not stand answering questions.

"Of all the Valar! Deawen..." Fearan shook his head and rubbed his temple. he'd gone to the mess hal for two minutes and she'd already decided to test her leg. Did he have to babysit her? "You were caught in a bear trap last night, had to hobble a mile, in a thunderstorm, and you were only sewn up last night, after which you almost died! You should be in bed, resting!" For all her daftness, he had to give her credit. She was tough. But her stuborness would be the death of her, one of these days.
Only after he took his eyes of Deawen did he see the newcomer. She was an elf maiden, but 'maiden' would be the last word Fearan would use to describe her. She looked like trouble, even more trouble than Deawen. "G'day, I have not seen you around. Are you just passing by?" he asked innocently enough. He had been proven wrong on people's personalities before, maybe this woman wasn't all that bad.

When Maethoriel spun around to Deawen, Deawen nearly sprang backwards ready for the attack that never came, but her leg prevented such a move. She let out a small breath, then replaced it with a yawn.
"Lucky." Deawen said quietly. " Then be wary, they are smarter than they look." Deawen said dryly " THey are always one step ahead of me."

She threw back her head hearing the boy and let out a bark like laugh and then settled back down onto her cane. "Well, you have not seen me around because I haven not been around. I have been about, but in an entirely different place than here. The half-elf grinned and gestured grandly with one arm, "I was looking for something to cure my boredom. But it seems you have already cleared out my entertainment. Pity." She chuckled, referring to the previous battle, it should be pointed out that she made no mention of leaving as she had found a new interest to occupy her time.
She raised a brow at Daewen, "Yes, but that is you. And this is me. I'm quite certain that have made a better first impression. Not to mention I have no...wound that would hinder me," she smiled.

Maenel gave a small smile. "Do not worry about formalities with me. I can tell you are one who dislikes questions." Maenel's self-imposed removal from her surroundings allowed her a certain skill in reading people. She saw Deawen come out of the master healer's tent. Her eyes flashed. "Fearen! If you can not watch her, then she must stay in my tent!" To Maethoriel's remark, she replied. "You will find your entertainment in this one, truly." She made for Deawen to get her weight off of the mended tear in her leg.

"The only reason she's out of the tent is because I wasn't there to hold her down!" Fearan grumbled, replying to Maenel. "You know how she is."
He turned to the newcomer. "My name is Fearan." He said bluntly. "The..entertainment has been taken care of, sorry to ruin your fun." He despised her for considering bloody battle a pleasurable, entertaining sport. He turned to assist Maenel take Deawen back to her cot. "I hope you find some more entertainment!" He called over his shoulder. His tone of voice showed that he didn't really mean it, but he didn't want to waste energy on a lie.

Deawen with out thinking about it shifted her weight off her hurt leg at Maenel’s signal.
“ You two act like a couple of ninny’s. “ Deawen informed them.
“ You two are just mad because I keep you on your toes.” She smiled wickedly,
She hobbled next to Fearan back to the tent “ You brought me back here, you could have left me but you didn’t it was your choice I told you not to bring me back and you did anyway. So you get to deal with me…” Deawen said lightly.
She sat on her cot carefully then sighed.
" I wasn't trying anything, so don't panic, I hate being forced to stay in one spot. I like to wander." she smiled sheepishly.

The woman laughed at the man's comment. She was going to have fun with this lot, all of them so touchy about a bit of gore. She rolled her head about feeling her neck tense and the sighed contentedly as it gave a sickening crack, "Oh do not worry, Faeron. I always find my entertainment, in one form or another."
She glanced to Maenel, perceptive was a decent word to describe the woman, but most healers were. She nodded as if deciding something to herself; they would get on well enough. She directed her last question to the woman, "Why exactly are you keeping that jack rabbit in a cage? A misunderstanding? She seems relatively harmless...well nothing that could not be fixed by a sharp blow to the head every now and again."

Maenel let Faeran take Deawen to an empty cot unhindered and turned to answer. "She is my patient to treat. A healer is the same as a warrior, but with an opposite goal: I will do whatever it takes to finish what I've started. Regardless the resistance."

Fearan led Deawen to the nearest cot. "Friend of yours?" He asked of Deawen, meaning the elf. The newcomer (who, Fearan noticed, failed to offer her name) looked like a heap of trouble. In all possibility the two knew eachother. After all, what kind of person stumbles randomoly into military camps looking for "entertainment."
